Brachioplasty & Compression Garment Questions
It's official, I will be having a brachioplasty revisionand thigh lift (with incisions from groin to knee) on September 18th.
I had a previous brachioplasty and need a revision due to the additional weight I've lost and the change in condition of my arms after working out so much, for such a long period of time. I am now addicted to exercise and average 8-9 hours per week. If you would have told me that this would be my life 9 years ago, I wouldn't have believed you!
When I had my previous brachioplasty, I was bandaged with ace bandages, but wondered if anyone here wore compression dressings on their arms? I've seen things you can get that hold the arm firm from shoulder to wrist. I wondered if this would be a good idea? Any thoughts from anyone?
I am also curious about how my thighs are going to turn out because aside from the loose skin, there are still fat pockets as well, so I think they are going to be a big job for my surgeon. Does anyone have any before and after thigh pictures they would be willing to share with me? As far as compression document for thighs, I was thinking of getting some spanks to wear after I get set free from what my surgeon puts me in. Anybody have any other ideas?
I will discuss all of this with my surgeon at our next meeting, but wanted to get your real life - been there, done that - input, as well!
Thanks so much!

The incision from my brachioplasty 5 weeks ago goes from my elbow thru my armpit and down to the bottom of my braline so you may not need anything as comprehensive as this. I needed compression all along the incision line.
There are items at the Marena site www.marena.com that you can use. Both things that are just sleeves and full upper body compression. They are pretty expensive. I found Maidenform and Lilyette (same company different names) have something that they call an arm slimming camisole. I found it on Ebay for $25 - $30 and on a site called Lady Grace for $41.. It covers from your elbow to your waist. No seams so it didn't create any irritation on my incisions. My surgeon loved it. You step in like a dance leotard.
Good luck with your surgeries.

I want to have my thighs done next along with my breasts. However, I wanted to share with you what I use for compresion garment on my arms. I use the TED stocking they have you wear in the hospital. They are great support and they cover the entire arms. At first the size large was too tight as I would swell but I felt it controlled the amount of swelling I had. If it became too tight for me I would use a larger size and that was too loose for me. Good luck to you on this wonderful journey!

Hi
I just today received the compression garment for my arm revision.
Here's a link to the one I got.

It's going to be hot in July/August in this thing but it will be so much better than having the ace bandages always falling off.
Hope that helps.
Are you doing your inner thighs at at the time? I hear it's really hard having both your arms and legs done at the same time....
Best wishes
Ruth

After my brachio I was given compression sleeves for my arms, they attached in the middle of my shoulders. I didn't get anything else, I used ace bandages when I was washing them. I only had to use them continuosly for the first 2 weeks and then only during the day the next week and then nothing.
Good Luck
