update on my "uh oh" post

I went ahead and emailed my doctor about my concerns (see post below if you haven't).

He thinks I am developing an abscess to my internal stitch there and to start soaking in epson salt twice daily for 30 mins each time to draw any possibly infection/fluid accumulaitons out.  Wants me to do this for a week.. if it gets worse, more red, spreads or I run a fever I am to get into the office pronto.

Soooo there ya have it.  I was feeling WAY too lucky to not have any problems thus far... ;-)

Hope the epison salt helps.  And that it goes away on its own!!!  Sorry your having this complication.  Is this a common one?

Hi Shirley!  Fun stuff right?!?!  Ugh...

I am starting to have more sore spots and really feeling the sutures under the skin and can even see them.. I think they are starting to try and work themselves out. I think I need to be on an antibiotic too for this.  I also have layrngitis... so may need something for that too.. what a mess LOL.

Hang in there and keep me posted!

Been there, baby.

I seriously don't think it has anything to do with a suture, and you'll be okay darlin'!

Hi there:  You are going to do so well simply bc from reading you are very well prepared and just ready to  have the procedure.  I just had the stomach surgery to remove the excess skin.  I want you to know that I was told also about the pain and that was not my experience as we are all very different and sensitivity levels to pain or different as well.  I do experience discomfort as I am living in a binder for the next 6 weeks.  I had my drains removed yesterday and the 300 sutures will be removed next week.  Today was a hard down day as I have to take it very easy and my activity level has to be very low so as not to mess with the sutures.  My top weight was 298 and now is 136 and I am 5 ft tall.  Had surgery in 07.  YOu will do just fine.  Just let yourself go and I too came home quickly.  I came home the following day.  take care, Sylvia

Thanks Shira.  It isn't any worse today, the same.  I honestly do think it is a suture now as it is moving closer to the surface. Wait and see..
