Just thought we needed yet another drain topic
yes once all my drains were out and my open wounds healed i did wear spanx for awhile and trust me you will finally get to a point where you dont want to wear ANYTHING. My PS told me it was more in my head than the NEED to actually wear it. I just felt like if I didnt I was going to fall apart lol. And now that is why I am having such a hard time making the choice about the thigh lift because I wear a size 10 but only because of the loose skin of the thighs if I got rid of it I could get into a much smaller size, but I just remember all the binders and drains and I think should I just be happy or should I go for it... WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO lol.
I understand your fears. I had my last two drains in for 18 days. One had turn to the color of apple juice and the other one was about the color of red wine. I asked them (nurses at my doc's office) if that was a problem and they said no. Both had been draining between 25 and 30 cc's for the past five days. I was glad and excited to have then removed because that meant I was cleared for a shower today. My surgeon doesn't allow showers until all drains are removed. Then I came online and read how a few people had problems after their drains were removed. This scared the **** out of me. I really don't want to deal with anything else right not. Plus I have a real fear of needles. I'm praying that we both continue along this road of recovery with no additonal problems. I'm making plans to enjoy my 4th of July.
PS: I didn't cry at all this weekend so knowing that the end is near for the drains and positive thinking may have worked in my case. You can make it through and remember we are here to help.
