All these drain threads, sorry to add one more...

I saw my doctor today. I am 10 days out from my panni. He took one drain out, it was draining less than 30cc in a 24 hour period. He said this is what he looks for in taking them out.

He left the other one in for another week. I am to drain it once a day, around the same time every day, and tell him when it reaches 30cc's or less. Right now it's around 50cc a day draining, real dark red/brown color.

So my doctor is AWESOME! He is funny and cares, yet quick and listens. He told me to take deep breaths, as I did, he cut the stitch holding the tube in and pulled it out. A medium speed. And BOY was it LONG! Wow it must have reached all across my stitch. It did NOT hurt at all. I did not even feel tugging. I felt NOTHING. The stitch didn't even hurt coming out.

Feels so good to have it out. I have one drain left in, I hope it comes out next Monday, cuz Wednesday I go back to work.

Anyway, good luck to all going through "The Drains". LOL

I am NOT looking forward to drains and compression garments again. Oh, well. The price I pay to be "normal."

I'm glad everything when well during your visit. One drain left you must be feeling good because you can hide that better. Good luck to you as you continue to recover.

I am glad that you were able to get one drain out.  I unfortuantley am one who has to go in today for fluid removal but thats ok.  My drains were draining less than 30 cc in a 24 hour period but I am a lucky one I guess!!  LOL.

I continue to wear my compression binder under my clothes at work.
