Should I Use Neosporin?

Hey all, and Happy Saturday!

The sutures on my right hip are still red and puffy and bleeding just a tiny bit. (enough so that if I don't keep gauze on my tshirt sticks to the wound)
Is this something I should just leave alone or maybe put neosporin on? They were red and puffy when I went for my post-op last Thursday and the Dr didnt seem to be concerned but they seem to be a tiny bit worse now. They are not warm to the touch but are tender.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I've wondered the same thing myself - but I wouldn't put anything on it until you ask your doctor.  I've heard some doctors say different things about neosporin.  Some like it - some don't.

I think it has something to do with allergies.  Apparently, if you are allergic to it - it can be a severe reaction.

My surgeon likes bacitracin (single sporin - one antibiotic vs. three in it) and says it has less chance for allergic reaction.   I would run it by them.

My surgeon said the exact same thing. I also used raw honey.

It was taking forever for neosporin to heal my cut! Doc told my to use Bacitraycin and  that literally cleared it up in less than a week. I had a hole in each of my my arm pits (from brachioplasty)  about 2 inches big from all sides... Not pretty.  Dont know how it did it so quick, but it worked very well.
