Parotid Swelling after Facelift

I just had a facelift on Monday and I still look like an alien.  The swelling around my eyes seems to be going down but my parotid glands are swollen and I can't chew anything.  Back to protien shakes!  I know this could happen but I was wondering if anyone else had it happen and how long it lasted.  My doc's instructions say 1-4 weeks.

Hi Fran,

I just added you as a friend so you can see my progress pictures.  I am now 6 weeks out.  I was swelling extremely bad on day 4.  I remember hardly being able to open my mouth.  I am still very tight in the paratid area and along the jawline.  Some swelling under the jaw, too.  When I open my mouth very wide (like for the dentist) I feel tension above my ear area.  it is all still strange, but I now look close to normal and younger! 

Just hoping all numbness and swelling will subside.  I am still swelling from my PS from Dec, so it will probably take me a long time.
