drain trouble

 I woke up this morning and liquid was running down my leg.  I apparently pulled on of the drains half way out in my sleep last night so it was no longer holding a suction, I tried to pu**** back in a little but that was not working so I just let it be.  Well, when I went to go get into the shower and attach my drains to this piecce of cloth they had given, it fell out completley!! 

I must admist that it feel good to be without one drain and only have one to tug along! 

Good thing I have an appointment this afternoon to have them removed!!!

UGH OH..... let us know what the dr says today.

It happens unfortunately.

How much were you draining?  What did the fluid look like? Was it getting lighter in color and less in amount?  If so, you could be due to have it out anyways.

Worst case, your body will heal over that site and the fluid will collect leaving a seroma.  It can be aspirated with a needle and pretty painless.

I used to work for a general surgeon so I knew it was not too big of a deal..I was due to get them out today anyway.  The drainage was yellow and about 25 cc in a 24 hour period.  i called him just in case and he was not concerned..so I am here now waiting for my appointment..

Well, that sure is a sneaky way to get those pesky drains out!!!  LOL
