Those who have had Mastopexy and Implants???

Thats awesome Cass... yeah I may do that.  Especially since I have to pay out of pocket anyways with no insurance help on this one so it really doesn't matter.  However, I can understand why he wants to do separate procedures for healing with the weight of implants etc ... he said this will be a "lift" procedure and the implants provide counter pressure.  ??? Arm lift tho too is nice and u still paid less overall... wow.  May do a couple more consults.

Thanks for your response!

I can't help with any pricing info, but I wanted to tell you that my surgeon feels the same way about doing the mastopexy and augmentation at the same time.  He tells me he has much better results doing them in separate procedures.  I am very happy with the results of my mastopexy and I do not think I will do the implants.

Thanks Red, I also thought maybe I would feel this way. I am barely filling a B cup even pulling the side fat into the front cups though.. can I ask what size you were preop?  More than hating the lack of breast fullness its the side rolls on my pics on the upper body that are majorly bothersome, esp now that I have everything so svelte lower with the LBL.  Do the curtains, gotta do the carpet... argh ya know the routine.  If only I had more money, not sure why I am even asking right now... i think my husband wants me to be quiet already LOL!  Thanks for the input!

edited to ask:  do u have pics u wouldn't mind sharing???

Before I had WLS I was a 46DD or DDD.  After WLS I was in a 36C but the top of the bra was empty.  After my breast lift I was still a 36C but now it is full and perky.  Plus you have to remember I am 56 years old!   I will try to send you some pics, but the last time I tried to send someone pics I had some trouble.  Photobucket thinks they are porn!!!!!

Thanks Red.  My email is [email protected] - LOL on the porn - makes sense!

I was a 46C at my largest... so yeah, I have nothing now! You are lucky in that reguard!!! I am so glad you are thrilled with just the lift.  I bet I would be an A cup once the side rolls/skin is removed.

Melissa,
My PS wouldn't do both at the same time either. He wanted to do the lift first and the implant later. I suggested we do it the other way around because the implant would take up some of the slack and then he could see exactly what was left. Plus I was hoping that the implant would be enough since i was so small. I was wearing a 34A and not filling the top of the cup. I'm now a 34C and guess what - don't need the lift.

I paid just under $10k for both the silicone implants and a TT. I think the implants alone were around $6k.

I am not so sure i need the lift either but i have LOTS of skin on the side boob area .. so for sure i need that lifted... I am so glad it worked out well for you!!  That is so awesome.  I just wish I had the money to complete the job now... Oh well.. it will be a while, we want to adopt kids.. so I need to make that priority anyway, but someday.. :)

I am having a mastopexy with silicone implants, TT and lipo on July 13. The price for all is 11,500, including all facility and anesthesia fees. I had a total of 5 consults. 2 out of the 5 docs would only do the mastopexy and implants separately. I think your quote is high. The highest quote that I got for mastopexy/implants was basically 10,000 9 (done at the same time). I was not happy with 3 out of the 5 doctors that I saw, but the last one was awesome, and I scheduled surgery immediately. I think it is always a good idea to have more than one consult anyway, even if you have a great surgeon.  Remember  to ask to see pictures of their work too. Price isn't everything, but it is important. The most expensive isn't always best, as is the cheapest.

Thank you - I agree, this just seems unreasonable but I sure do hate to go to anyone else b/c I have a rapport established with him on a professional level as a nurse and as a patient now but this price blew me out of the water and I think is a bit ridiculous.  I tried to negotiate on the LBL and he wouldn't do it :( So I guess I will have to go with someone else for this one sadly.   Thanks for your feedback!!!

My surgeon said the same thing about doing a lift prior to implants, better results.
