Can I ask how much you paid?

I was quoted 7.5k for mastoplexy (breat lift and side boob lift LOL)

and later would pay 7.3k for breast implants (silicone).

My surgeon will only do separate surgeries with me.

Does this sound steep? now way I can afford it right now but wanted a ballpark figure so I knew ahead of time.

Edited to add: this is for OR and anesthsia as well as surgeon's fees.

That sounds pretty expensive to me.  It's like paying twice!  I would think the implant surgery would be much cheaper since all the excess has already been removed and all he basically will need to do is insert the implants.

Thanks, I have to say I am thinking the same thing.  Seems crazy but I also know I got pricing for silicone implants and they are more expensive.

This by the way is including OR and anesthesia.

Sounds way high to me!
Can't he do them both at the same time to save on some of the expense?

My surgeon will not do it one sitting.  he states there is more chance for tissue necrosis (death) at the incision line doing both and also the implants will look better if the lift is done first.  Shrugs???

I was given quotes on several different combinations of procedures, so I just looked at the breakdown for augmentation with mastopexy (silicone) and it totals $8600.00. That includes all fees, OR, surgeon and  anesthesia.

Thanks Renee!

I wish I could do them together but he refuses to do so, feels the final product is worth being conservative. 15k just seems SO HIGH! sigh...

I agree... i think i may have to have a second opinion.  Bad thing is we live in a VERY small area and he is awesome, we are lucky to have him here.. he really belongs on the coasts with the amazing work he does.  He is a microvascular surgeon so he can sew hands back together, all those small vessels in severed fingers etc.. incredible!  He is also the doc that goes and fixes all the wound infections after surgeries like open heart etc.... so he is quite concerned about possible infection as he deals with them a lot after other surgeries by other surgeons.  Sigh..

Um - granted I know mine usually runs 3-4K cheaper here (German tax relief) but for $12,500 I was quoted: breast lift, memory gel silicone augmentation, upper chest lift (bra fat), arm lift, and removal of the hair and sweat glands from the underarms. All in one surgery. Also included in that price was all inclusive - surgeon, surgery center, OR, anesthsia, 8 days in a private recovery center with 24x7 nursing, all meds, follow up, etc.

I know you love your surgeon, but maybe in this case it's worth the drive for a second opinion at least.
