It's not easy Jessica,, especially when you have family matters on your mind too. I'll be praying for you for an uneventful surgery & speedy recovery!

I HATE any kind of surgery and considered backing out on all of them, ,the bypass, the FL &AL, the TT & BL. But I fight the urge til the very last second & then just bite the bullet & go for it. Yes, you very well may be disappointed in yoourself if you do back out. I know I would have been. None of these surgeries were easy but,,so far,,they have all been well worth the pain & recovery time.

Good luck to you!!

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time.  I think the fear that we go through is perfectly normal, but I'm sure having these types of problems beforehand can make it more difficult.  Just know that going through a little depression is common for some people.  I'm kind of preparing myself for that in case it hits me so I won't be so surprised.  If it does happen just remember it is temporary and if you feel it does get bad, please talk to your doctor.  I'm not saying this to scare you but just sharing information.  Just remember how hard you have worked to be where you are and this is one more stop to the end of our weight loss journey.

Good luck to you. I'm sure you'll do fine!!

Hi Jessica,

I had my TT and LBL on 05/11 and recovery is going great.  No pain at this point, but days 2-4 were worst.  Especially coughing :).

The swelling is way down and I'm back into my smallest pants before surgery, a size 7 -- and they're sagging now that I don't my apron to stuff in there.  Doc removed 236 square inches of skin, but it only weighed 5 lbs. because there was no fat in that skin.

As to pain...let's see :).  I've had:

3 c-sections
hernia repair
lap RNY
lap gallbladder removal (6 weeks prior to TT/LBL)
TT/LBL

I won't lie to ya.  I have a high threshold for pain and the TT/LBL was painful for me.  But as I said, days 2-4 were the worst and it quickly got remarkably better.  I'm already thrilled with the results.

So it's entirely worth it and if I had to, I would go through that pain again.  In fact, I will go through similar (but likely less) pain when I have my brachioplasty and mastopexy this autumn.  I can truly say I'm looking forward to that next phase!

You've got a lot going on, and it's absolutely normal for you to feel what you're feeling.  I'm praying for you Jessica and can't wait to see your posts once you're up to it.

Hugs,
Jasmine

Jessica,
I have not had plastics yet but wanted to wish you good luck and a speedy recovery. My dad was raised in Johnson City. I have not been there in 15 years but it was beautiful. Good luck again and take care of yourself.
