Thanks for the info and the concern..  I am 17 months post op.  I work out 3 days a week.  I have been the same weight for 6 months.  I lost many pounds and shed even more inches....so the extra skin is all that I have left that relly bothers me!   Even if I remained this weight forver....I would be happy!

I thought if I could drop a few pounds more before my surgery it would help.  I have a call in to my surgeon to talk about some of the items you mentioned.

Gotcha.

Glad you are talking it over with them so you are all on the same page about your health! Great!

Good luck and many blessings to you!

OP, the Panniculectomy and Tummy Tuck (abdominoplasty) are two different operations. AFAIK you get one or the other, not both.

My advice to you would be to be very certain that you understand which operation you are having so that you are not disappointed.

Many who get just a Panni are unhappy with the results, judging from the posts on this forum.

Please DO NOT try to crash diet in the weeks preceding your surgery!

The small amount you're talking about will make no difference and you can cause signifigant issues with anesthesia from some of the metabolicly active weight loss meds. Some of the herbal ingedients also make you more prone to bleeding.

Just eat normal and make sure your protein intake is good. I'd also start taking Iron & folate supplements to counteract your tendency towards anemia from the bypass.

Best of luck!
