Ok - somebody who has had a BL and TT tell me I am not tripping - I am almost standing upright but feel like I don't have enough skin to stand up straight (if that makes any sense)  I feel like my tits are stuck or something............

am I tripping? does this **** loosen up over the first two weeks?  i have my follow up appt with the doc Thurs - I will ask him then - but I would appreciate some feedback from my 'squad' on here....

The tightness is normal - it will take longer than two weeks to ease....but it will.........walk as much as you can - carefully stretch as much as you can - the stronger your back the better you'll do.   It takes time........SUsan

Thanks for that - I was gonna start getting paranoid that he got the stomach right and messed up my tits....

I understand the stretching - I am trying to do more of that - I suspect when I start wearing the compression garment, things will really start to come together.

Thanks again!!!

I have not had a BL or TT yet, but I have had other plastics done and for me, it was swelling.  The tight, could not stand up straight feeling was all about the swelling.  It will go up and down for awhile as well.  For me, making sure that I was hydrated and not retaining any extra water was crutial and moving as much as I could without over doing.  Feel better soon sweetie.

It is a combination of the stretching and pulling done during surgery and the post op swelling.  It will get better.

you are not wearing compression garments already?  What are you wearing???

I have been wearing a sports like bra and binder since the day of surgery....

It takes some time for everything to losen up but you will be able to stand up straight again.  My surgeon warned me that I would not be able to at first.... It happened when I least expected it... I didn't even notice I was suddenly standing straight till it was pointed out to me.... stretch a little but  be careful not to over due it... just go with whatever feels comfortable and within your pain tolerance limits. :)

Hi Marnie!  You're not the first to ask me that - and the reason I'm not in a compression for my TT is the drains - my surgeon said he's seen infections too many times wearing them while the drains are in, so when they come out, I will start wearing the garment.  As for the bra - the ones I bought pre-surgery ended up being too small, so I had to order and overnight a replacement.

Thanks for the info on standing up - I swear I was thinking there isn't enough skin to go around!  LOL

Hey, Sounds like you are doing much better. I know what you mean about not enough skin. I think that when the skin was pulled down for the TT, it pulled everything down. I said it's a good thing that I have a very supportive bra or they would be down to my waist!! haha How's the Vicodin doing for you!!
