Day Four......

OMG - you guys did NOT fully explain how BAD the first three days are!!!!  LOL  geez!!!!  That SUCKED major wind - I swear I questioned why the hell I couldn't just live with the skin and the girdle because I must be STUPID to have gotten cut again!!!!!  Pain, discomfort and arrrggghhh!!!!

But today - I'm a lil better.  Was able to go most of yesterday on just tylenol and advil like the doc said, no more pain and the drains aren't excessive.  I have been showering and moving around pretty good - was almost bored skull-less until I 'discovered' the HBO series True Blood in On Demand  I have another 4 or 5 hrs worth to watch today so that's keeping me occupied mentally.

I am still swollen - will probably take pics today or tomorrow - I am still happy I did it (overall) but I want to hurry up and get these drains out (Thursday) and get into my compression garment - I think once I am in it, I will be more comfortable.

Anyhoo - thanks for the info and tips - if you got any more, keep em coming!!!! 

Glad to see you're up & about, promise things will get better!! I was pretty uncomfortable for the first two weeks, not in severe pain or anything, just uncomfortable. It took me a month just to get back in my own bed!! Did your PS tell you that your drains are coming out on Thurs? That's quick, I had 3 drains and had 2 out at 3 weeks and the other 1 out at 4 weeks. Are you wearing a binder? I love mine, sure gives a lot of support!! Take good care and get in those stool softeners!!

Nope - no binder - my surgeon doesn't want anything on me until the drains come out.  They are running clear to light pink already, so Thursday might be the day.  I healed up pretty quick and well the last time too, so I think that means things are going good.....

and AMEN to stool softeners!!!  OMG - I haven't EVER been so happy to POO as this morning!!!! hahahhahahahha!!!! 

Well Mama!  The reason is we probably forgot how bad it was - thank God the mind has this mechanism called repression or we'd never go see a surgeon again !  When  you're feeling a little better take some photos and post them - we want to see how you turned out.  Donna

Glad you're feeling better!  Just remember that all of that pain indicates that they actually DID something this time.

Oh yeah those first 3 days when you feel like your legs are going to pop open, now taht you reminded me yes it was horrible,every hour gets better
