My consultation went great!

Yesterday I posted a question about bikini cut  versus anchor cut and I received some great feedback.  Thanks to everyone *****sponded and made this the best consultation I ever had; I had a list of questions and was very satisfied with the answers.

Dr. Rothenberg of Livingston, NJ will be performing my bikini cut tummy tuck and breast implants on August 24, 2009.  He was the first plastic surgeon who actually stated I need the implants versus the breast lift.  I wanted the breast lift if it was going to give me at least a full "C" cup, but Dr. Rothenberg showed me how I would not have a full "A" more less a "C".  I am currently wearing a 36D bra which is filled with sagging skin, but that's another story within itself.

He also stated I should not attempt to lose any more weight since my weight drops from everywhere except the midsection.  I trust this doctor because my surgeon recommended him to me and I trust Dr. Andrei (my surgeon) completely.  Most of all, Dr. Rothenberg called me small, I couldn't believe this doctor called me small and tiny.  (YEAH)

Anyway, thanks for your help as usual OH family.  May God continue to bless each of you.

It's a good thing you were confident enough to continue asking questions until you were satisfied with the answers. You gotta make sure you are both on the same page,,what you want & expect vs. what you're getting!

Continued good luck to you!!

Glad you found someone you trust and feel really good about. The difference in my consults w/different PS's was interesting--some were just OK, a few were really good, and one was great (so I am going with the one that was great).

Can you explain what you mean when you say your "weight drops from everywhere except the midsection."? I am not sure what you mean but I'd like to understand.  (The PS I've chosen has also told me that I don't need to loose more weight..)

I was always heavy top (breast 44DD, huge midsection) and small on the bottom (flat butt and skinny legs).  When I began losing weight I lost shoulders, arms, breast, butt, and legs.  The mid-section refuses to leave.  That's what I mean by losing everywhere except the midsection.  If I was to lose the 12 lbs. I wanted to lose then most likely my breast and butt will sag more versus reducing my stomach.

Duh, I don't know why that didn't make sense to me yesterday, but now it's clear, thank you. Sounds like your extra weight is going to come off with the scalpel rather than through additional weight loss. At some point it seems like that just happens for some -- even for those who don't have WLS. The extra fat just stays there -- thus, voila, liposuction was invented!

It's interesting to watch me fret over my "extra" weight that my PS has told me not to loose. Meanwhile, everyone is telling me that I'm starting to look small. But I don't see that. I just see someone less heavy than I was when I started. Ack!
