I'm 3 months out tomorrow and I do get swelling if I've been moving around alot all day or if I don't get in a lot of liquids (sound ironic, but true).  So if I KNOW I'm gonna have one of those busy days, I wear a tight body shaper to keep me sucked in.

Why is it we all know how to use our tool, but refuse to do it?

I'm almost 6 months out and still swell and feel a lot of tightness on a daily basis.

Yes, it's very normal to feel that way and from what I understand, it's not unusual to swell for up to a year.

I'm almost 6 months out and DITTO.. what the others said.  Swelling .. tightness right under the new belly button incisional line area and mons area.

Yup.  Sometimes I fear a massive explosion may occur anytime in the lower abdominal area.  I, too, find that a one piece body shaper helps.  Sometimes, I sleep in the darn thing. Swelling is definitely better with it than without though.  Hate that darn swelling!

I had to wear my binder for four weeks.  I just took it off on Monday.  Ironically, MY swelling has been better since taking it off.  The mons area is still swollen - a lot.  I hate that.  Lower belly is still swollen, just not near as bad as it had been.

It is possible that I was wearing my binder too tight?  I'd love some input.

My surgery was 12/29/08.  I am still swelling. Can't wait for it to go away!
