I had a lot of skin & fat over my hips, my TT goes as far around as it can go without turning you over. Instead of going from hipbone to hipbone (which on me would be about 15") he went about 28" around. Hope that helps!!  Good luck, you will love whatever you do!!

thanks for answering.  so, in the back, how many inches are there in between the scars,  (how many inches were not cut on the back?)  and why was this done instead of a body lift?  i'm trying to figure out my options before i go for a consult, thank you again, jo

Well, I just measured it exactly, he went 26" from extended hip to hip and 16" around the back that was not done. I have always had a huge tummy and didn't feel that I needed to have an LBL. Glad I didn't, sounds like it would have been an additional $5,000.00. WHEW!! LOL  I paid a difference over what the ins. co. paid w/co pay & deductible of an extra $4,750.00, I just saw another post that said she paid an additional $10,000 and something. Good luck

The extended TT as I understand it is also sometimes referred to as table to table.  The incision goes as far around as possible without flipping you over.

My surgeon never referred to my TT as extended, but I am cut well beyond the hip bone.  My incision is 23 inches.  The distance between the incisions (in the back) is about 9 inches.  The doc knew I was concerned with my backside.  However, he felt a LBL wasn't necessary.  He said often times the TT helps lift the backside just enough to make the difference.  I am happy with the results so far.  I am only 4 weeks postop and still have some swelling, especially in the mons area.  It looks huge compared to everything else.  I can't wait for the hair to grow back and camoflauge it.  lol.

thank you so much. i've only heard of people being cut beyond the hipbones a few times, so i've been very curious.  i too do not think i need a lbl, but this "extended" tt or whatever it is sounds good.,jo
