Panni vs. TT

hello everyone!!

I will be meeting with my PS this summer for an initial consult.  I am interested in several procedures, but the main one is a panni/TT.

My insurance will pay for the panni, but obviously not the TT.  For those of you who have had the TT, what made you decide to have that done vs the panni?  I will never be a bikini girl, so is it really necessary to get the TT?  Will I be satisfied with just a panni?  aarrggghh!!! I cant decide!!

Any suggestions/help would be immensly appreciated.

Self-paid for the tt.  Surgeon never recommended just the panni removal after I suggested tt.  Having had 2 kids & a hanging belly, I figured the muscle tightening was important as they certainly wouldn't repair themselves at this point.  I also knew that it would likely help with any back problems & strengthening my core.  If you're going to go in there anyway, why not the whole deal?
Ask your surgeon.

From everything I've read - people are never satisfied with just the panni removal........never.    Susan

I have some really good panni vs. TT pre and post op shots coming up  for you.... LOL you're JUST in time!!!!

was SUPPOSED to have a TT last year - azzhole doc only did the panni - am having a revision anchor cut TT and BL tomorrow - so once I have the post op pics up you will be able to REALLY see what JUST the panni gets you and what the TT gets you.......

gimme a week and I should be able to TOTALLY clear it up for you!  LOL

Get the extended TT.  You will not be happy with the panni.  Even the doctors who post here say they either don't do them or are reluctant to do them.

I got the extended TT due to a lot of skin & fat over my hips. And lipo, muscle repair and when my PS got in there, he found a baseball size umbilical hernia that he repaired. I paid an additional $3,000.00 plus co-pay and deductible which totaled $4,700.00. That included everything. He said he would do just the panni, but gave me the option of the other work. I guess only you can decide how much work you need to have done and how much money you have to spend. Good luck!!

I had just a panni, I am satisfied. BUT....... I would of rathered to have the muscle surgery along with it. At the time, I was way overweight and she couldn't really do a regular tt.  My stomach looks great, but it would look amazing if I would have had it all. You will have more pain and healing time with a regular tt, but not a lot more. Good luck, either way.

If you don't mind me asking, why get a panni if you still have quite a bit of weighht to lose?

Mobility.  My panni gave me rashes and really was uncomfortable just for everyday life and getting through regular activities.  I couldn't jog, had to always wear support and it was just hell!  Even though I intended to have the full TT - the part he DID remove did make a difference.
