If you had a panni (or TT) and had insurance approval:

1. How much weight had you lost prior to surgery?
2. How low was your pannus?

I had lost approximately 160 pounds (down from about 330).  My pannus hung down below my pubic bone (and my mons hung down even MORE (but insurance would not cover fixing THAT, so I had to pay out of pocket for that).

I've lost about 215lbs and my panni hangs down just about my knees and it's about 27 inches in width from the base of my stomach to the end of it. My insurance would not cover because I only had one skin break down and no rashes. I'm not willing to go any longer with this hanging so I am a cash pay and my surgery is scheduled for June 4.

I hd lost about 120lbs.
My pannis did not hang below my hoohoo. Just about right at.
Indurance paid for the removal, i paid 4k extra for tightening of muscles.
best thing I ever did, also the hardest :)

Thanks! Sorry for the graphic, but do you mean you couldn't see your hoohoo at all? Mine is only partially covered, and even though my insurance is pretty lax with the panni, I don't know that they will cover. My consult isn't for a couple months, so its driving me crazy!!

No problem, hehe, i brought the hoo hoo up :)
My hoohoo was not covered. the panni barely hung to it. It was large but not that low.
One tip, i went to 2 consults. The first dr would not even apply to insurance, said there was no way insurance would pay.
2nd dr got approval on first try. Make sure you go to a couple.

My insurance paid for my panni. I paid extra $3,000 + copay + deductible = $4,500.00 for extended TT w/lipo and muscle repair, but billed out it was a $20,000 operation. I had lost 100 lbs. and pannus hung below my mons. Good luck, you will love your tummy work!!

Well, about even or a little below. You don't HAVE to do extra, most insurance co's will pay for the panni if that's all you can afford. My PS office took care of all the insurance stuff and got me approved right away, no fighting. Ask your PS, they do that all the time. Good luck!!

1. I'd lost 160 lbs.
2. My pannus was such that nude photos showed no incriminating bits. It was down on my thighs.

I had mine done in conjunction with hernia repair (about canteloupe size hernia) and they were able to reposition my abdominal muscles without using mesh to repair the hernia.

It's strange to look in the mirror and see me again -- something I haven't seen for a good 20+ years.
