What were your presurgical medication instructions?
What all did your surgeon have you STOP taking and how long before surgery? I'm just curious - my surgeon has me taking NOTHING for 2 weeks - not vitamins, meds, even antihistimes.

I was allowed to continue my vitmains. My PS instructions stated no vitamin E. The amount in my multi vitamin was not an issue.
Basically anything that could increase risk of bleeding was off limits.
He did not require me to go off of my birth control pills, but I did as a precaution.

nothing with vitamin E (however said multi was fine, not enough to matter) and nothing antiflammatory wise or aspirin wise. Everything was fine, i was even told to take my synthroid with a small sip of water the morning of.

A resident at my PS office said no apples because they promote bleeding. Never heard of that before.....has anyone??
