June 10th is my surgery date, I'll be having a panneculectomy and TT.
Here in the south we make 'an event' out of everything... even Plastic Surgery!!

Armed with all of the useful information and new found knowledge I've gained from many of your posts, I realized I NEEDED TO GO SHOPPING!  WoooHoooo

So I took yesterday off work and my Mom and I went on a pre-surgery shopping spree. I got my man tank t-shirts to go under my binder, and I bought several "don't touch me anywhere' dresses" for when I go back to work. It was fun and exciting. Since my lap-band surgery I have only bought clothes to get by, not really much fun shopping because I didn't want to put a lot of money or effort into clothes that I considerered temporary. I have not bought dresses since before WLS and I have to say I was thrilled at how they looked on me, and it will be even better after PS!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your posts. They have helped me tremendously get prepared for my own surgery and I know more of what to expect now.

I am getting excited!

Hi Jodi!
It's just what I call those dresses that have either no waist, or the empire waist. They are tshirt dresses, or just straight dresses that don't touch the body. I really thought I'd only find very casual dresses made like that but I also found some that were a little more dressy.
Best thing about is that I found them really cheap! The most I paid was $16.99. I got most of them from Ross Dress for Less.

Congratulations Phyllis and Jodi, I too, am having ps on June 3rd so I guess we are all in the same boat, I want to know about the 'don't touch me' dresses. I also want to know about the mens t shirts. I am having LBL, thigh lift, breast lift, aug, and arm lift. Anybody going to Monterrey for surgery then???? thanks, Carole

I assume don't touch me dresses are floaty type dresses that aren't fitted any where.  It is important to buy tees to wear under your binder for comfort.  I bought womens tank tees instead of mens.  The arm holes are cut better and the just fit better.  I got mine at Walmart, but start looking, because selection is limited.  Good luck, Loris

Hi Carole,
Congrats on your surgery too! Loris is correct, it's the floaty dresses that literally don't touch or bind. I found some casual, some dressy.

The tshirts are for under the binder so it does not irritate the skin. The reason I opted for the men's tshirt over the women is that they are easier to find, and they are much longer. I'm long wasted and needed to know mine would come down long enough to help the lower part of my stomach too. I also loved the stretchy feeling of them. They don't bind but they are snug enough to not wrinkle up under the binder. I didn't have any luck finding any of the women's tshirts that fit that bill. I got the sleeveless.

Best of luck to you!! Sounds like there will be several of us swapping war stories! LOL

YAY for you!!

We make a big deal out of everything too here in IOWA :-)  It's a monumental thing to be having PS here. LOL  Not like California where it happens as a daily occurance!

Dresses sound great!! PERFECT!

The t-shirts, yes I love the mens b/c they are longer. I am longer waisted too.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Those things I swear I'd pay 50 bucks for them if I had to.. they are a GODsend.

I am very excited for you!!!!  Sounds like you are pretty excited too!! WOOHOO!!!
Hugs, Melissa

We are scheduled on the same day!  I too went and bought the men's tanks, because they were easier to find and cheap.  I also found some dresses as well.  We have a really good thrift store where I have found some dresses.  Also, Old Navy has some good drapey dresses as well.  I also bought flip flops in white, black, brown so I don't have to worry about wrestling with shoes, and my kiddos gave me some new slippers for around the house.  Good luck to you!
