Fluid buildup in the belly
So how would you know if you needed to have fluid aspirated from your belly? Obviously with a seroma you might have a distinct area that is bulging but that is not what I'm experiencing.
I am 5.5 weeks post panni removal. I stopped wearing my binder at week 4 but have been wearing a body suit for support at least 12 hours a day, sometimes during the day, sometimes while I sleep.
I wore a pair of jeans for the first time on Tuesday and they fit just fine but I suppose if they were too constrictive at all I might not have noticed since I'm still very numb. So yesterday I noticed that I seemed to be more swollen than I have been, a little uncomfortable but not painful or anything. Usually if I have some swelling once I go to bed it has resolved by the time I wake up. But this morning, I'm still swollen so I've scheduled a follow up with my PS for late tomorrow but am just wondering who out there had to have fluid drained and how did you know you needed it done?

I was told if you quickly tap on your abdomen and waves A LOT.. like a waterbed would.. u may need a needle aspiration as it could be a seroma but gnerealized swelling well it just takes time.

You know my lower belly & mons area is "swollen" so I think but when i tap on it, it's bouncy and spongy. I've applied additional compression on the area and will keep doing this until I see my surgeon again. I'm wondering if this is fluid bulid up for me because I know when I first saw my belly the day after surgery I was flat as a board but now I look 4 months pregnant.
He mentioned "taking care of it" and didn't seem to be the least bit worried about it but honestly I'm a bit upset because I wanted it done the right way the first time. It's probably not his fault though.
The compression garment was tight on my thighs and around my midsection but never tight on my lower abdomen. I wonder if that has anything to do with it and would applying the right compression now would help it?
I don't know but very good question.
