OK I've been holding off on this but I can fight the feeling no longer........I'm having my own Personal Pity Party.
As you may know I had my brachioplasty done a few weeks ago (6 to be exact). I've felt from the start that the surgeon did not take enough off. For some reason my right arm has always been more swollen and just bothered me more.......it is still very swollen.
I know it takes time and I know the pains I feel are mostly good because it's the nerves healing but some are not....
This afternoon as I was creaming the scars again (I do it 3-4 times a day) I got sad because the incisions are raised despite wearing the silicone strips and rubbing scar cream on and now massaging moisturizer cream in too. The arm feels so "tight" all along the incision.....it started a few days ago and doesn't get any better. I showed the surgeon yesterday but all he said was "oh boy, try massaging that to break it up".
I had NO problems when I had my boobs done (different surgeon done before I moved south). The incisions are perfectly flat.
I'm getting to my wits end.......I'm searching for new creams, new silicone strips, or a compression garment for the arms.......just trying to find something to help. Anyone have any suggestions on flattening out the incision?
Well thanks for letting me whine and vent.

I did not find that any of the things I tried on the scars really helped.... only time helped as things healed up (I had mine done last September, and one arm is STILL healing). I wanted to tell you, though, that I also had a lot of pain and tightness with my arms, and had one that was bigger than the other (ended up having lipo on that arm later to correct it).
Sorry that this recovery os so difficult for you (but I confess that it's nice to know that I'm not the only one... seems lots of people had a MUCH easier time with their arms than I did). I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for sharing.....at least it's nice to know I'm not alone with what I'm feeling....
Ruth:
We could have had this party together 3 years ago. Unfortunately, brachioplasty just can't do what other procedures do in terms of final results. I had all the same problems and nothing made the scars lie flat or fade. Finally after 3 years has the scar faded enough to make me satisified. The problem now is that I lost 107 lbs since then and so now I probably have to get a revision which I am dreading because the healing process for my arms was so painful. I will have my LBL surgeon do the revision and hopefully he is more skilled at this procedure than the surgeon who did my BL and Brachioplasty. What's another $5-10K?! Sheesh!

We are following the same path........I plan on using a different surgeon for my LBL and Inner Thigh and I will have the new guy do the revision on the arms later in the year. UGH
BTW, congrats on losing 107 lbs after plastic surgery....that's amazing!

After the procedure I was wrapped in ACE bandages for 2 weeks but nothing after that. I was just looking on line at something specially made for the arms and thinking it might help....I'm just not sure. I've already spent $152 on silicone strips that are not staying on and not helping. UGH!
Do you know anything about the compression garments for the arms?
