3 weeks from today - it will happen

So why am I starting to trip?  I spent some time last night searching on the web for anchor cut tummy tuck before and after photos and now I am getting nervous as all get out!!!  don't worry - I'm not backing out - but I am getting SCARED!!!!!

It was one thing when it was the first go around last year - I didn't have any issues to worry about someone correcting - I was a 'clean slate' .  What if jackleg doc did something really hokey in there and I can't heal?  What if I have some abnormal, unforeseen defect?  What if they find that lil alien thing in my tummy?  Ok - that last question was silly - but I'm TRIPPING!!!!

I hate the fact that I have to go under again - and that scares me.  I have made it through two surgeries so far with no complications whatsoever - am I challenging the law of averages with this one?

On the other hand - I'm MISERABLE with the weight of the skin I have above my scar and the constant pulling sensation I have - and I can't WAIT to not have to wear a girdle (although I know I will for several months post op)

I'm pretty sure this mind trip is normal - but I just want to stay in bed until the day of then go - and get this over with!  I want to hurry up and not be scared......

ok.... nuff rambling...... thanks for listening......

I think it would be very strange not to be afraid.   It is a big deal and yes, anything could go wrong, but I think most everyone comes out ok.  You will get through this and be happy you had it done.  I am just almost 3 weeks past surgery, I'm still healing and still have the "what have I done" thoughts from time to time, but I'm on the road to being great and you will be there soon.

Don't be hard on yourself for being frightened, it is perfectly normal.  I do have a little advice for pre surgery, eat protein, drink and exercise.  Be in the best health you can be when you go to surgery, it will definitely help in your healing.

Good luck to you.

Jane

thanks Jane!  I think I will feel better after my appt tomorrow morning - it's a second consult with the doc and I will get my final price quote then.

And I am sticking to my protein shake in the morning - but need to kick myself in the azz to get more cardio in - I did that last time and it was worth it.

I understand how you feel. I'm having a tummy tuck with anchor cut and my arms done in 4 weeks. This will be my third surgery as well. We will be fine and everything will be okay.

Breathe, breathe, breathe....calm your nerves! After you're healed, you'll be too fierce and that anxiety will be a thing of the past!

Hey lady,

Given what you have been through I think you have every right to have fear going into this surgery.  You make logical sense minus the alien and you have done the research.  I think you will come out just fine and so you know my God doesn't follow the law of averages the fact that you stand here to be a guide and joker and sometimes just you is a against the averages.  You should still be overweight and miserable but, you got the surgery you work your tool and you will succeed with this second round of surgery.  All I can say is hurry up and wait cause it will be here in no time flat and so will your new stomach.

I'm having plastic surgery three weeks from today too. I'm having a breast lift. My anchor tummy tuck was done Jan 7th. I had a long healing time and to this day have some soreness where scar tissue form from an abcess 5 weeks after my surgery. I'm still thrilled with the results and excited to go back under in order to get the body I never had. I wish you lots of good luck:)

Thanks a million - I am nervous about the anchor cut, but I know it's the only thing shy of a LBL that will get me where I want to be.
