? about breast augmentation
A few years down the road, when I'm done having kids and breastfeeding, I would love to have a breast lift and possibly thinking about a BA. When I met my hubby 11 yrs ago, I was a 36D and then had two kids (and b/f one of them for a year) and lost all this weight and am now a 34H!!! I know that if I have a breast lift, they might not be as full, but at least they won't be sagging to my waist and will be up where they should be.
But if I have a BA, I know I'd be happier with my breasts and it would help improve my self image about my body (in the bedroom especially). Even now, I am having issues with how my boobs look and it is sort of affecting my sex drive with hubby. He loves my body and how it looks now (even with all the saggy skin and looking like a melted candle...) but I am having issues with all the saggy skin. But my question is, I've heard that you have to have the implants replaced every 10-15 yrs, is that true???
We can't afford for me to have surgery every 10 or so years, so I need something that gets it done the first time. I was self pay for my surgery and that was enough money to shell out. I heard that with a breast lift, that gravity can take over again and they can go back to sagging- but hey it'd be nothing like how I am now with the sagginess I know that.
I also would love a lower body lift along with this, but a tummy tuck along with a BL or a BA will be all that we can afford. I might only just get a TT or a BL/BA too, we just have to see how much we can save up in these next few years!
Thanks for your responses!

Yes, implants do need to be replaced! My mom used to have them, and she had them in much too long the first time. She had them replaced with Saline, and didn't like them, so she had those removed, and just opted for natural. She now has some pretty messed up looking boobs with scar tissue.
I also want to have a BL and BA...but I am not going for implants....I don't like the idea of having something foriegn in my body...especially after watching what my Mom went through...so I am opting to have them Augmented with my own body fat....I may not have them sitting up quite as pretty as someone that has implants, but I know they will do just fine for me!

I also was weird about having something foreign in my boobs and what if they leaked, broke, etc. I didn't like the fact of replacing them every 10 or so years either. But I didn't want them to be deflated either.... I didn't KNOW they could augment them with your OWN FAT though, that is a GREAT IDEA!! Yay!!! I definitely have enough in my lower body to cover that, lol.
Thanks for letting me know about that, I think I might go that route when I do go to have PS one day in the near future!

I was told my breast implants were placed in for life and only time they would need to be replaced is because of a leak or complications.
I think if u get implants under the full thickness of the muscles it will slow down sagging. I am so glad I did not have this procedure done with my TT,
Good luck

I got saline implants under the muscle. I was told that they were for life unless they leak. There's no danger with a leak from saline implants... you just have to get it replaced if it does. I'm really happy with the way my implants look, just not 100% happy with how they feel. They're a little hard. I'm actually considering at some point getting them replaced with gummy bear implants. They're still saline, but it's not liquid, it's a gel and doesn't leak... and they feel more life like. If I do, it won't be for quite some time though.
I am having a tummy tuck and breast lift in 8 weeks. I think the replacing implants was the old ones because i to asked my surgeon about that and he said no the only way they replace them if there is a leak like the other two ladies said.
I opted to just use my own tissue and get a lift only.
Good Luck

I just had a BL with saline implants last Wednesday. I too was told they were in for life. The only reasons for another surgery would be if one leaked. If one does leak and it needs to be replaced there is a warranty on the implant itself (I even got a"device identification card" with the implant numbers for my files. They also pay $1200 towards the cost to replace the implant. For an additional $100 (which I didn't do) they would have paid for $2400 of an additional surgery if ever needed. I would think the surgery would also be cheaper the 2nd time around since it is just replacing the impant itself (not that I am planning on another surgery ever).
I would do your research, find a good plastic surgeon and ask lots of questions. Just decide what is best for you.
I went with the implant under the muscle to help keep them up as long as possible. I knew using what tissue I had woudln't stay up long without the implant.
