ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G, and H are the letters used to define bra sizes?
My step-sister sent this to me today, I thought it was funny and relevant to those thinking about breast work. (FWIW- at my heaviest, I was a 42 G, yes, G as in ginormous. I've been through several subsequently smaller bra sizes since then and most recently bought a 36DD. I will probably wind up getting a lift but no reduction when the time comes.)
Anyhoo....here's the thingie my step-sis sent...

Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G, and H are the letters used to define bra sizes?
If you have wondered why, but couldn't figure out what the letters stood for, it is about time you became informed!
(A} Almost Boobs...
{B} Barely there.
{C} Can't Complain!
{D} Dang!
{DD} Double Dang!
{E} Enormous!
{F} Fake.
{G} Get a Reduction.
(edited to add ) Oops, I forgot to include the "H" so here it is:
{H} Help me, I've fallen and I can't get up !

Hey there Angie, glad you enjoyed it. Nice to be smaller without being small, isn't it?
I've shrank out of my 42, 40 and 38 band sizes. Depending on the cut of the specific bra (whether it runs true-to-size, large or small) I have DD's or in one case, an E (when the cut ran small). I have some pretty ones that are now too big for me, so I will bring 'em to the next LB Coffee with you in mind.
You look GREAT!

So what are H, I, and J?? I started at 48 J. I'm now at 36 J. I joke "That's 'J' for 'just cut them off already!'."
When I met with my surgeon, he said that right now insurance probably would NOT pay for reduction, even though I've got permanent indentation in my shoulders, nearly constant skin problems underneath, etc. simply because my BMI is still too high and they'd want almost all of the tissue removed (gram wise) to qualify. He recommended we first do the hernia repair and panniculectomy. Those were done 3 weeks ago. Then when I am able to exercise again, I work on slimming down further and getting my BMI even lower. Then we can submit to insurance for breast reduction/breast lift. I'll then have to pay for the brachioplasty (probably), but we can see if they'll cover them together.
Of course, the panniculectomy has revealed how bad my thighs and saddle bags are. Those have to go first (probably next March/April) and then the following year I'll see about the boobies.
