I'm going on 4 months and I still swell. I know when I'm swollen because it feels REALLY tight, sometimes just in the front, sometimes just in the back, or sometimes both.
I seem to swell for no particular reason. It doesn't hurt, it's not even all that uncomfortable. It feels like I have a binder wrapped tight around my middle.
I do think the swelling is mostly on the inside - the outside feels really taut but doesn't change my pant size or anything.
My Doc said you can swell for up to a year, but usually only 6 months or so.
