Hi, I my name is Gayle, I will be 2 years post RNY in May, I have a HUGE amount of extra skin and tissue on the backs of my things and also the inner thighs. I had a consult in February and was approved in April for a  thigh lift.  my surgeon is doing an inner and outer thigh lift, with lipo....I am hoping to have a lower body lift either around christmas or by next summer for sure...

I would love to hear from anyone who has had a thigh lift especially if you had an outer one also...I am so looking forward to not having saddle bags anymore....

Hi Gayle.  Congrats on your accomplishments !  Really unusual to get the thighs approved, at least here in Texas.  Did you have skin problems that were documented ?

No there were no skin issues unless you count having about 5-8 pounds of hanging excess skin and tissue on each leg.  I do not have pictures to post yet, but the surgeons office said they took one look at the pictures that were submitted and approved it right away.....I have a good 6-8 inches of hang down from my butt cheeks to my knees when I put my foot up on a chair.....

They originally said they would not approve without 6 months of medical intervention, both my PCP and my WL Surgeon said the only medical intervention was removal...it hangs such that I have balance issues when I try to ride a bike, or get up any speed on the elliptical.

It sounds like you had an exceptional amount of excess skin.  Glad to see they did not delay your much-needed reconstructive surgery !

congratulations on your approval.  I was also able to get my thighs covered my insurance.  It's been a hard recovery (just had the inner thighs done), I am hopeful it will be worth it, but right now between the swelling and incisions...it's been rough.  It sounds like you will really benefit from your thighs being done!
My PS said he took half a pound from each leg (and seven from my tummy).

good luck
