Plastic Surgery - PreOp Size
Hi Ruth,
Oh...I am so excited for you....you make me taste it as well. The 15lbs from goal is good info... I went to my WLS and got referrals...I am going to wait until I am at least down to 190-185 before I schedule a consult. I really appreciate you for taking the time to post. I will keep you in prayer. Thank. Lisa

Thanks and good luck to you too..... keep the board updated with your progress.
Hi - Like you, I'm 5'8" or (5'8 3/4") depending on the day. I had a LBL last December. I weighed about 182 lb. when I had the surgery. Since then, my weight ranges between 170-175. I was a size 12 or 14 before the surgery and now, I'm a size 8 or 10.
I don't feel like a small person, but my bones certainly stick out where they never did before and I'm told I shouldn't lose any more weight. I may have lost some weight as a result of the plastics, but not more than 7 or 8 lbs.
I trusted my doctor when I said I was a good candidate and at a good weight to have the surgery. He seemed to base it more on the shape of my body, frame and physical condition than he did on my weight. As a matter of fact, his only reference to my weight was when he asked if I had a goal weight in mind - which happened to be 180.
I'm not sure what you mean be "thickness", but everyone is different and plastic surgery isn't a one-size-fits-all. Find a surgeon that you trust and base your decisions on what he/she says.
Good luck!

Thanks BJ...I really appreciate this info. Yes...my goal weight is 180-190. I am going to wait until I get there and see. I guess what I really mean by thickness is that I just want all the extra bulges and xtra fat gone.nothing more nothing less...but now that I think about it ...my body...is not going to lose weight the way I want it to. I will probably be one of those that has to get down to a certain weight before the extra fat on my back will disappear. I really appreciate you for posting. Thank. Lisa
I waited 5 years, got down to a 12 top, 14 bottom, and I was hovering around 195 when I had my LBL. After the surgery I was a 12 bottom and continued to lose weight - it jump-started me. However, after my second round (BA/BL/brachio) I became severely anemic and started to regain weight. Sigh, I'm back where I started around 195.
Ooooh you have pics...you have pics...."jumping up and down in excitement" Thanks BM!!!
This sound more like my scenario so far....I know I am not going to know when the time is right ...until I look in the mirror and feel satisfied with my weight loss...but this give me hope. I realy appreciate you for sharing....You look great!
