Bowel Prep before Surgery Question???

Yeah, interesting you are the only for the most part on here saying your surgeon requires it.  Regardless congratulations on your upcoming surgery, do keep us posted and we are going to look and feel so much better! Yay for us!!! I can't wait either!!!

My instructions were the same as yours.  Just make sure you start on stool softeners, drink plenty of water and by day 3 or 4 add milk of mag if you haven't gone yet.  Other fiber would be good.  Some people recommend sena(sp).  For me I added Milk of Mag for 2 days and that did the trick.  I also slowed down the narcotics by day 5 as well.

I had no bowel prep. Only no foods after 10:00.
 Mari  Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!

Good to know, my surgery will be early I am sure so I will stop eating early that night and switch to clears.. I think that is going to be my plan anyways!  Appreciate you sharing your preop instructions with me!

Mine tt is tomorrow and my only instruction was nothing after midnight but i personally took a lax earlier so i wouls be somewhat cleansed and not worry bout having a bowel movement too soon.

I did not have to do a bowel prep for any of my plastics.  Just nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before.
