Trying out implants...

When I saw my PS the other day, they had me do a prelim tryout of different implant sizes with those sexy (not) little bras... Originally, I wanted to go to a full C, currently being an A+ or Nearly B, previously being a DD... The thing is, they all looked HUGE to me when I tried them on... Here's my dilemma... Everyone tells me I should aim for a small D... They seem to think my height/frame would support that without looking like a blow-up doll. But, if you use the cc/cup size conversion of about 190cc for every cup size, I need nearly 400cc to do that. When I tried on the 350cc implants, they looked ginormous... I know it's hard to tell because they're not actually IN and that part of it is just not being used to it and also having sort of a funky body image anyway, but geeze, I'm telling you, it just seems so.... BIG! I've been scouting a lot of before and after pics on different site, trying to concentrate on those with similar height/weight/frames and similar breast conditions, to get an idea, but it's still hard to imagine... So, my question for this extremely long post is multi-fold: 1) Did any of you experience similar questions/uncertainties? 2) Did any of you go too big and regret it later? 3) Did any of you go too small and regret it later? 4) Did any of you go bigger/smaller than you thought you should and it turned out to be perfect?

I pretty much let my ps decide the size for me. I was thinking I'd like to be a full C but he thought that would be too big for my size. He suggested a full B to a small C (350cc's). They are bigger than what I had since I went from a full C to a B, and much fuller on the sides than I used to be. I love the size and think they're perfect for my body size. I'm 5'3" and weigh between 125-130 lbs. Any bigger would have been too much for me. He also suggested silicone since I was having a lift done too and I'm glad I listened to him since they look sooo natural. Good luck, Terry Coles

I don't know how tall you are or your weight, but I'm 5'5" and 140lbs. Every PS I saw said I had very little breast tissue left, and when I discussed implant size (not cup size), the unanimous "guesstimate" or recommendation to get me to look balanced for my frame was around 285-300CC (silicone). Now, I've never had normal looking breasts, so I couldn't tell anyone what cup size I wished to be. I assume that they were thinking the 285-300CC implant would get me to be the average C cup. Last minute, I made the comment to my PS that I would rather be bigger than smaller....I knew he had ordered a couple different size implants. I asked him to take a poll in the operating room amongst the nurses (LOL!) when I was being "sized". I ended up with 325/350 CC, and I ended up a DD cup size. I love this size for me. A DD sounds huge, but it's not...I don't feel or look huge. I'm sure I would have regretted being much smaller, especially after years of being embarrassed by my breasts. My whole point is, don't get obsessed with cup size or CC's. My relatively small CC size got me really good-sized boobs! On another body type, the size of implants I have may have only given a B 0r C cup size. It's great that you're looking at lots of pictures.....find a body type similar to yours with breasts that you like, and go by that. Your PS should be able to fit you with the proper CC size for your exisiting breast tissue/body type to get you the look you want. Good luck to you....your new boobies will quickly become "yours"...I never even think about the fact I have implants anymore. Julie

I would not go by the trying-on process. When I talked with my PS I was filling up a D cup with almost all skin. If I had put an implant in a bra with all of that it would have been huge! The reality is that a lot of my skin was going away. Of course, it's normal to have these uncertainties. You will have to live with whatever you end up with. My PS said that most people's regrets were that they ended up too small, not too big. I have always had nice big breasts and didn't want to go too small. I asked for a D cup but actually ended up with a DD/DDD. It's funny, I remember seeing some people pre-op with large implants and thinking, "She looks top-heavy! I don't want that!" But I sorta ended up that way and I like them. I also got silicone, and I'm thrilled with the way they feel and look. I guess I would say, do your research, but don't obsess over it. I know, easier said than done! Hugs, Connie -147#

I was very uncertain. I am small, only 4'11"/ i was a 34 BV starting out. I wanted only to go to a C max. I was thinking 200-250 cc max. My ps said I had to have at least 300 to look right and have the implant "fit" my chest right, that I have a wide base to my breasts and if the implant was too small it would look wierd. and he said 330 would be better and make me a nice C. My exact words to him were I do not want to be too big, I hate the fake all tits look. I'm small, I dont want that to be the first thing anyone notices on me, Well I went with the 330. Initially afte surgery Iwas a 36C, but after a couple months they fluffed" I am now a 36D, and they don't always fit, and DD's can be really hard to find. I did not gain wieght so that is not the problem. I have mixed feelings about the size. I feel I look just a little too big. Most of the same shirts still fit me as when I bought to fit my shoulders the chest was very loose. my shirts and dress fit really smooth. At this point it is over a year and I am used to the size, they just feel like they are part of me. Smaller would have been ok too. i basically have many mixed feelings about the implants all together. If/when I replace them iI may wan to go smaller. however from hat I havve read more women wish they had gone larger rather than smaller. You might try getting the book "the best breast" by Dr John Tebbits (not sure I spelled the name right) very informative, altho your own ps who had examined you is going to be a good reference. be specific and be sure to be vey open and honest as to what you want to look like when all is done, while listenng to his rationales as well. when you are very well onformed you will make the best choice for you. check out www.implantinfo.com

I was amazed at the huge size the tryouts were too! I'm big boned, 5'5" and 170, wear an 8/10. I was always big busted, wanted cleavage again. Wore a 38 c, all skin loose and yucky. I got 600ccs and 550cc, to help with the different sizes my breast were. I'm a DD now, and just 5 weeks out, LOVE it! I had wanted a full D. I had over the muscle placement and silicon gel. Best wishes I have photos link is below Phyllis http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=11386317&uid=5757714
