Liposuction

I am scheduled to have liposuction of my inner thighs in July. I have already had an abdominalplasty with outer thigh and butt augmentation. I am a little nervous about the liposuction. My doctor has recommended the liposuction because I have so much excess skin on my inner thighs he feels this will help to pull the skin tighter. A second surgery will be required after the liposuction. Has anyone had liposuction of their inner thighs or anywhere else for that matter? If so have you been happy with the results and did you have any complications?

I just had surgery on 5/9/06. I had a LBL, BA/BL with lots of liposuction on the hips, waist, back, abs, outer and inner thighs. Before I had liposuction to the inner thighs they were not wrinkly but loose skin. After lipo the skin is now loose and wrinkly. I was not planning on have an inner thigh lift and pretty sure I am still not going to. But, I wish I would not have had inner thigh lipo. If you are planning on an inner thigh lift later then maybe it would be OK. In capris or pants my legs look much better (thinner), but I have to watch the length of shorts I wear so my wrinkles don't show. Can I ask you a question. What is butt augmentation? After my LBL my butt is now flat. I have always had a butt. It is so strange to see it flat back there. I've heard about fat injection, but not sure if that is what you had done or had implants. Hope this helps!! Nancy

Nancy Butt augmentation is just shaping of the buttocks, I did not have any fat injections or implants. Did the lipo to your inner thighs reduce the amount of extra skin in that area? Julie

Julie, I'm sure someone else will chime in here, but I'm sure that lipo to your inner thoghs will not tighten/reduce the extra skin in that area; if anything, your skin will appear looser and more wrinkly. The lipo will only be taking out the fat that is filling the skin. One procedure that PS's do PRIOR to thighplasty or inner thigh lift is lipo (as a seperate procedure). That way, more skin can be pulled or reduced during the actual lift. This is probably your surgeon's plan, but don't expect the area to look reduced from the lipo alone. Julie

I don't think it will reduce extra skin. If you skin is stretched out, the skin is not reduced due to liposuction. The fat is what is removed. I wore a compression garment that went down to just above my knees. Even wearing that did not help with the wrinkles that developed after lipo. Because the fat was removed the skin just looks worse, in my case. You said you were having a second surgery after the liposuction. Is it an inner thigh lift? Nancy

I had thigh lift and tummy tuck July 04, and lipo of inner and outer thighs 3 weeks ago. I did not like the way my thighs looked after the thigh lift. So i had the lipo 3 weeks ago. Although I did not get the results I had hoped for I am very pleased with my results. My legs look 90% better. I am still very swollen yet. Be prepared to have lots of bruising. Ask your doctor to see some before and after pictures. Good luck to you.

I had a thigh lift then later lipo and another tigh lift. I think my results would have been a LOT better if I had done the lipo first. let it settle for several months then have a thigh lift, maybe I wouldn't have needed 2 thigh lifts. I have lipo pics if you wnat to see how the bruising was they are from 1 week post op. and very , very scary!

In July of 2004, I had liposuction of the abdomen and outer and inner thighs. The thigh lift did not improve my opinion of my appearance. About three weeks ago, I decided to get liposuction. My expectations were not met, but I am still quite satisfied with the outcome. My lower body is much improved. The swelling has not gone down yet. Expect to sustain numerous bruises. Take some before and after images and show them to your doctor. I wish you all the best.
