Hi y'all. I'm going to be getting a small furry soon.. the place where I'm staying will only allow certain pets. I would really like a ferret, which are allowed, but my budget will not allow for one right now. I just have a couple of questions. What are your experiences with the above pets? All I've had before are hamsters... can you give me pros and cons to owning each of the different little furry friends listed? And this is a strange question, but can you but a hamster with a gerbil? A rat with a mouse? Any of the combinations? My roommate wants a furry also and wants to know if she'll need to get her own cage. I'm thinking yes, but I just thought I'd ask. Thanks!!

Not to be negative, because this is a nice story...but I hope you tried to find out if Vernon's owners were searching for him. As someone who lost a dog while we were visiting in another state, I know that not all dogs who are out on the highways are abandoned. We spent thousands of dollars searching for our dog and never found her. The vets and animal control people figured that someone found her and just kept her without bothering to check to see if someone was missing her. It is the heartbreak of our lives to never know what happened to her.

Your babies are too cute... BUT and please don't take offense... they are rats ... cute rats but rats. I know you love them like they are children... I can read that in how you talk about them above (which I think is precious) but if I saw them on the street I would run the other way. I truly don't mean any offense and I am trying real hard to get over the rodent issue... and I had never seen a hooded one before... that is too cute. I guess if I saw them in your house scurrying around I too would think they were adorable... ok here goes... give them a peck on the forehead for me... every body's gotta have someone to love them ... even cute little rodents... lol

They are just beautiful!! So cute! I am way to protective of them, I just cant get myself to bring them outside, way to nerve racking to think something can happen to them Oh, and was that a strawberry yogurt chip? My guys LOVE those, and "Greenies" too, but they dont get too many since there is too much protein in them, but its cute to see them act like savages eating them
