My pet ( finders keepers)
One day while my husband and I were coming home from church right in the middle of the road, in front of our towns garbage dump was what I thought to be a small pile of garbage. My husband said honey I think that's a live animal of some sort and I told him to go get it. What do you want with that dirty thing he asked ? I can't tell you what I wanted it for but, the thought of someone running over it was going to bother me so he jumped out of the car and brought the nasty thing to me. It was a dog I thought! It was so matted and dirty that you couldn't tell the head form it's tail. He had dry asfault on his feet and there was pine staw stuck to them. His hair in the middle of his back was long enough that it also was stuck to his feet and he couldn't move. Wen I got him home I tried to cut away the matting but soon realized I couldn't tell the differance in the matting and his dirty skin. I was afraid I would cut him to pieces. I then attempted to wash him, but it got worse. I finally gave up and took this thing to a dog groomer hoping to be able to tell what this thing was.
To my surprise, 8 hours later and $65.00 worth of work I thought they had given me some one else's dog. He was beautiful! He is a full blooded laspso
opso. He has white hair with a small bit of silver markings. We tried to find the owner, but decided quickly that he was abanded. He is wonderful. We took him for his shots and an exam and he is just fine. We've had him for 5 years now . The vet told us that he was probably only 6 or 8 months old at the time we found him. So we probably will have him a long time. What a joy he brings our life. He's our empty nest dog, our children are grown and he also travels with us in our motor home, which he loves.
