Yes, I like the show, too!!!!  But, I don'****ch it alot, cuz it makes me cry too, and I don't wanna be "made fun of" by my 'tough boys'!!!!

That's pretty cool that this show is so close to you.  And really AWSOME that they had such an overwhelming response of volunteers.  That ROCKS!!!!

So, do you guys like this show?   I love to watch it...makes me cry every time.    Well, they are here just across the bridge of Lake Superior from us this week.   They knocked on the door of the family this morning.   How exciting!   I signed up to volunteer but since there were so many volunteers not everyone can help out.  I plan to drive over and check it out.   It's about 17 miles outside of Superior Wi...which is the next town over from us.  I have 2 friends that are helping out though.   The father in the family is a local firefighter...they have 2 kids 3 yr old boy and 6 yr old girl who share a bedroom.   They have a very very old farmhouse....dad says everytime he's at work and hears a call come in he fears it'll be his own home because it's in such disrepair.  They are sending the family to Hawaii for the week while they build the house.   I'm pretty excited to be so close to something like this going on!

Jamie, that's what our temps have been just about all summer....it hasn't been much warmer than that at all.   Hopefully we'll get a few days of warmer weather here in Aug.

Sounds like both of you ladies had busy, but productive weekends!!!!!

Our temps are now 49 overnight & 69 durning the day.  Slowly getting cooler, for fall......

I went over to my girlfriends house both days, adn Hunter had a playdate both days with her son.  She was having a garage sale, and so, we got to visit together in between customers & kids.  It was extremely awsome weather, so it was nice to be outside all day, both days.

Friday night, got the water working.  Our handyman replaced the poer box, next to the pressure tank, and replaced the PSI guage, the one that shows the pressure.  If the water starts acting up again, we will have to replace the pressure tank.  The house is 10 years old, and I am sure that the pressure tank is as well.  So, as long as we have no problems, DH & I plan to replace the pressure tank with tax returns.  We have sediment in our well water, and the filter system down there...... is after the water pipe comes up from the ground, and into the pressure tank, then, there is the filer system.  So, essentailly, the sediment goes into the pressure tank first
Just glad to have water, and be clean!!!!

DH's fising trip was a good one.  Even though it was a long day, he came home tired & manly-happy!!!!  Got lots of fish, limited out, as thay say.  Had fish for dinner last night & it was good!!!
Got salmon, halibut, and rock fish... they are also known as black bass.  So, we have fish for the winter.
In one more week, archery moose season starts.  August 10-17th.  Busy, busy!!!!

Have a GREAT DAY ladies!!!!!

Morning!  Sounds like you had a crazy weekend MIchelle.  Now you have overtime, a possibly broken car, not a nice way to start off the week.

Had a good weekend here although is was busy.  Friday evening was errands then home for dinner.  Took an easy night & went out for ice cream.  Saturday it was up and out the door for our oldest's dentist appointment.  Hubby stayed home to work on the fence.  Afternoon was a bday party for my nephew, ended up bringing one home with me, grocery shopping, etc.  Nephew was fussy so it was a difficult evening.  Sunday we woke up to rain so it was a lazy a.m.  We all enjoyed a nice huge breakfast and some relax time.  Got some more stuff hung and unpacked at home.  Once the rain stopped & things dried up we headed back outside to work on the fence some more.  I belive that will be our evening job for this week.

Hope you all have a great day!!

Good morning!   I slept great last night so hopefully that will help my day be a good one.  We had a great weekend.  Got a lot done around the house...replaced some screens, mowed lawn, weed wacked, moved pastor's things out of our garage, cooked lots, and relaxed with a bbq yesterday.  We all really enjoyed it.

Today I need to work at least 10 hrs if not more.  Then we were invited to a bbq and campfire at a friend's house from church.  It's for the young adults but she told me to pretend I'm young and come anyway so she's not alone with the young kids LOL.   My husband and I are kind of in the middle of everyone at church...we're not young yet we don't really fit into the older group either.   Since we have Sadie that is so young but are almost ewwww dare I say it 40.....sometimes people forger our real age.  I have to work 10 hrs of OT this week and we were planning to head out of town at 2pm on Friday so I need to get it in before Thur night.    Well, the whole going out of town is looking like it's not going to happen though.   We're having some crazy noises going on in the rear end of our car and need to get that fixed before we go anywhere very far.   So not only am I not sure when I'll find time to take it in but the extra money will go to fixin the car instead of having fun....OHHH Well such is life.

Well, you all have a great Monday!

Tonight, I hope we have running water!!!  Have been having "intermittent" problems with it for like 10 days (think it is the pressure tank switch) whenever we mees with that little box, we could hear the pressure tank filling back up & all would be fine again.  We have a couple of 5 gallon water jugs and a couple of 1 gallon milk jugs filled too.  That is, until Tuesday, or Wednesday night.  water went off, DH went down to crawl space to fiddle with the box & NADA. Nothing.  So, we called our family handyman, and he said he would be over last night around 6:00 to check it (he had already been there the day after it started acting up--know where the housekey is--came over while we were both at work.... and, naturally, the water wouldn't friggin' shut off  worked just fine.)  Just like the car, you know, making that funny noise, you take it in to the shop & IT WON'T DO IT??!!??
Our family handyman is very dependable, so, when 7:00 rolled around, I called him, to check on him & he had gotten tied up with the other job he had been at all day, and was still out there, about an hour from our house, and he wasn't finished up there, yet.  So, he will be coming over sometime today, either while I am gone, or, after I get home.
If I could have seen into the future.... and known that our handyman would have gotten hung up last night, I would have made plans to go get a shower at someone's house, yesterday, after work.  So, here I sit, greasy hair & all.......  Oh well, at least it is Saturday tomorrow, and I have no one to impress .  At least, until noon, anyway.  I have plans to have lunch with my mom & sis, for my mom's b-day.  Talked to my sis last night & she knows I might be coming over with shower supplies!!  HA HA!!!

Now that I have written a novel.........

Court, Men.... Gotta Love 'em!!!  I still haven't figured out why??!!  HA HA HA HA

Michelle, You can always send a 'care package' of yummies our way too!!!!  Your work sure is a slave driver!!!  Sure hope that mandatory OT pay helps out on your bills, at least!!!!

Have a GREAT weekend, ladies!!!!

Wow what a crazy busy day!   I'm taking my afternoon break finally and I only have 45 mins of my 9.5 hour day left LOL.   I have 2 hours to work sometime tomorrow to get my mandatory OT in.   Next week we go from 5 hrs OT to 10 hrs OT mandatory.   Not looking forward to that.   Although we decided to escape next weekend after it's over.   At least I'll have something to look forward to.   My great nephews are turning 2 and 5 and having a party on Sun.   They live in the town where the MN Vikings do their training camp too.   So DH will get to check that out while Sadie and I can do some shopping and relax at the pool and hot tub.   We found a 2 room suite hotel room for under $90....wow and it's a very nice one so my niece says.   It has a full kitchen as well so we can even cook our meals which is better for our WLS family lol.   We'll get to spend time with family as well so it'll be good.

I get my garage back tomorrow!!   Our pastor and his family can move into their house so tomorrow morning we'll have a yard full of people moving their things out of our garage.  I'm cooking them a chicken noodle casserole, banana bread, a loaf of reg bread, and peanut butter bars for dinner tomorrow night.   I told them since neither one of us can eat much I miss cooking sometimes.   His wife told me I could use them as guinnea pigs anytime!!   We made dinner for church last nighg and there wasn't a bite left when we left so it obviously was good.   I made a denver egg bake, a sausage, bacon, mushroom, onion, and cheese one, and a sausage, bacon and cheese one......bananas, apple turnovers, and cinnamon rolls.   All that was left was a bit of juice LOL.   The last 2 times I've cooked every bite was gone too so I guess that's a compliment to me.

Other than moving them tomorrow we have a softball game/ bbq on Sunday but that's it.  Should be a good time.   Just a fun relaxing time with our church family.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Morning!!!  Wow sounds like you guys have busy weeks/weekends planned.  And both of you are experiencing cool weather & almost fall. Wow.  It is nasty 90 and humid here.  Wonderful for our weekend of outdoor power washing & painting of our fence.  I would think this would be a better job for fall but hubby wants to do it now.  To quote Jaime "He is a man".  Some errands are in order, a nephews bday party and perhaps a nice visit with my dad & stepmom this weekend.  We have been doing a few little things around the house this week.  I have been working on interior things as hubby has been doing yard things.  Might work on a bit more this weekend depending on how busy we get.  Have a great one!!

Topic: RE: Thursday greetings!!
Wow!!!  Hard to believe the last day of July is tomorrow!!!!  August turns into fall, in about a week.  So, by mid-August we're having our fall weather up here.  Sometimes it snows by October 8th.  Never know from year to year up here.
Dh is going with 2 of his frinds fishing tomorrow, so, he will have a long day.  It is a 3 1/2-4 hour drive each way.  And he has to work Saturday, Sunday.  I suggested to drive the camper down tonight, but he wants to do it all in one day.    He's a guy.  Don't know what he wants to 'prove' thinking that he is 20 years old again.  Oh well.  He wants to do it that way, he gets to suffer for it by being tired all weekend, trying to "catch-up".

Court, glad you are embracing the adjustment with positive thoughts.

Michelle, toys for boys.... anything that travels, boats, planes, trains, CARS.   Bugs, dinosaures.  Dress up is fun, hats, like mexican sombrereos.  Hunter really likes those wooden picture puzzles.  The board is one piece, and the pictures fit in there.  He has ones for like bugs, farm animals, and another for bedtime routine.  (toothpaste, soap & stuff).

Hope that helps!!!!  I'll keep thining on that, so, let me know if you want any more suggestions, and I should have thought of some more by then!!  HA HA
