I was anemic prior to my RNY in 2002. The doc put me on a prescription medicine (Chromagen Forte//the generic is Multigen) I take it in the morning, and with dinner, my iron has looked good for a long time, and my PCP is impressed, EVEN THOUGH it took time for my numbers to come up, because of our malabsorption and the stores to build back up in my body, it has all been worth it. If I were you, honestly...... see if you can get an infusion to get everything "jump started" and try the prescription to keep your numbers up. Just my 2 cents.

My colonoscopy went well yesterday. They found no issues there so my anemia is just due to my RNY....will see what my Dr wants me to do now. I'll put a call in to her next week to see. The worst part was the IV...too 7 pokes to get one in...finally a nurse anesthetist got it in . I slept most of the day away and still feel kinda groggy this morning.

I am so happy!!!! I actually got out of bed this morning EXCITED, and not dreadful!!!!!
We are going to do 2 procedures (day surgeries) 3 months apart. And the bonus is that I get my bladder fixed too!!! So, instead of being in the hospital a few days, and 6-8 weeks off from work (I work a physical job) I only need to take 2 weeks off each time.
I am getting the essure placed at the same time.
Michelle, tell me again, your personal experince, please, either here, or in a PM, I sure would appreciate the feedback about that.

I leave for my Vegas trip 3 wks from today. Can't wait for the break. Last week I had an upper endoscopy and all looked good. This week it's the colonoscopy....can hardly wait. Tomorrow is my prep day. Next week hubby and I are getting away for a full day away for our anniversary...which is today...woops didn't say that to him this morning. We're heading to Minneapolis for the day for dinner and a baseball game. The week after that is a regular week the it'll be off to Vegas. I can't wait to meet Donny Osmond plus spend some time with good cousins and my uncle. It's going to be an amazing few days!!

It's sunny here but really cool today. Soon it should warm up. Booked my flight for Vegas yesterday so it's very real now. I hate the next step...finding an outfit to wear ugghhhh. Oh well it will be fun. 4 days of no hubby or kids...I can't wait!!
It's my Friday since I have my endoscopy tomorrow. Ugghhh I am dreading it but it has to be done. I should've had Mon off too but I agreed to work 6 hrs and get pd double time and a half. OH bummer LOL.
It is just georgeous here in Alaska. Had Hunter's b-day party this last Sunday, and what a HIT the water balloon fight was, along with the super soaker squirt guns!!!!!! Fun was had by all at our house!!!!! As soon as I get DH to make me a disc of the pictures, I will post some.

Hunter's b-day is Sunday. It is really windy this week, sure hope for decent weather, as we are going to do a water balloon fight.... and have super-soaker water guns too!!!!
