Oh Court...big hugs!!! Life with teenagers is NOT easy! I'm stressed as well and just can't wait for Sunday to get here and be over with. Trying to pull together my son's grad party for Sun. I forgot how much work it is to do all this. Next weekend will be better when my sisters get to host the party. I can't wait!!!
I'm right there with you on the food and fluids especially. I WILL find time tonight to get the exercise in. Easier said than done isn't it? I'm off work for the rest of the week though so hopefully that will help. Taking Sadie to run some errands when she gets up then cleaning carpets this afternoon woohoo so much fun!! NOT
Glad to see you back here Court!
So I am really making some steps/time to get myself in gear. I need to drop a few pounds, need to get back on track with meds, fluids, foods, etc. That is my goal for this week, to get eveything that I need so that I can get it all set to start next week. Wish me luck.
I hope you all are enjoying yourselves and doing well!
Good to see you back Jamie. Glad you got to spend time with your father in law...no mattr what it was doing it's still time spent with them. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Have a great weekend!
Our vacation went as well as could be down to California. DH's dad was at STanford University when we first arrived (a 4 hour drive from his parents house) the following afternoon, they arrived home, they were there for 5 days.... they put in a PICC catheter, and gave him LOTS of cheom, essentially killing off his immune system. So, when his dad got home, he was very, very week & ill. DH's mom works part-time in the morning foe the school district, so, all week long, we took his dad, daily to see the doc in their home town, and they would give him 3 chemo shots EVERY DAY in his belly.... finishing off killing his stem cells & immune system, and then they started doing blood work to check on the lab values & numbers that they needed him to get to, for the 'next phase'. His dad had to wear a respirator out of the house, and beside the "big trip" out to the doctor's office, he was house-bound. Very strict diet & could not be outside with all of the pollen & mold. It did not matter to us, WE WERE THERE FOR MORAL SUPPORT & whatever else that they needed, that was the purpose of our trip & when we booked the tickets (we had already asked for the time off together form both of our jobs back in February) in April..... we had no idea where his dad would be in the process, but that just did not matter to us. As of last night, his parents were back in the car, his dad's lab values were where Stanford needed them to be & they wanted them there at 7am this morning. I think part of this is for the electrophoresies, and taking some of his bone marrow as well.
But, we are glad we were able to go down & help in whatever way we could. We did do little 'day' trips, his mom was working, and after his dad wouls have his early 8:30 or 9am appointment, his dad wouls want to go home & nap. So, DH, Hunter & I would go out for 2-3 hours & look around, do some walking & go to a park, or something, so that Hunter could bur n off some excess energy.
Have a GREAT DAY!!!!

OH Court you definitely need a vacation!! I know the feeling though...I've been stressed with my older kids really bad in the last week or so. We had a get away on Sat with just Sadie and it was very nice but as soon as I got home it was right there in my face ughhhhhh. I can't wait for July when I have 2 girls only trips planned. We have been crazy busy and the next couple of weeks are only going to get worse. Tonight is graduation.....and yesssssssssssss my son made it and will be graduating on time. We're very proud of how hard he's worked this year. He's thinking about joining the air national guard.....hoping to talk to a recruiter soon. Wow I can't believe he's grown up!! I better bring my box of tissues tonight.
Hope everyone is doing well and getting some relaxation in.
Hope you all had a great weekend and your week is going well!!!
Yayyy it's Friday....and a long weekend to boot. I can't wait for 4pm today. I'm very tired today...I'm thinking my iron is low again. I slept good but just can't shake the tiredness. Excited to go on our day trip tomorrow even though I have no idea where it is. He did let it slip that we're driving UP there so I'm pretty sure it's up north somewhere. There are a lot of cool places on the north shore of Lake Superior so I'm sure whatever it is we'll have a great time. Tonight Sadie and I are going to go vacuum out the van while daddy does some yard work. Other than that I'm hoping to get some things done around here this weekend and some relaxing as well.
Have a great weekend!
Yesterday was Sadie's last dance class for the yr. She's sad and wants to know when she gets to go back. Next week is time to register for swimming lessons for the summer so that should help a bit. We are in the pool so much at the Y now that I want her to know how to be safe. Those start the end of June I believe. We have a funeral to go to this evening. My husband's highschool friend's mother. Never fun to go to but will also be nice to catch up with old friends. Tomorrow is work and who knows what else. Sat DH has a surprise for me so no idea where we're going or what we're doing. Other than that hope to just get some things done around the house with the extra day off.
Hope you are all doing well!!
