Got some news yesterday morning, right after I got here to work. DH's hunting buddy's wife died unexpectedly & suddenly, from a blood clot to her lungs. From a broken ankle 2-3 weeks back.
DH has known both of them for over 10 years. They got married in 2006, about a week after Hunter was born. They are both in their 50's. Dh was able to get off of work early, and go be with him almost all day yesterday.
We also got more snow last night, so now it is wet & slushy out. Hunter made a snow angel this morning out on the back deck, before we left the house this morning. Hunter took his clown outfit to daycare this morning, and alos, it is parent/teacher conference, so he gets to play with all of his friends that are in school this year, since there is an in-service today.

We still need to carve our pumpkin. Not sure when we'll get that done. Maybe Fri night. Today is Sadie's 4th birthday. I took the day off and she let me sleep til 9am. WooHoo did that feel good. The dog had me up at 5 though to let him out for a bit. We're heading out in a bit to go to daddy's work to have lunch and then find something fun to do this afternoon. Baking cupcakes tonight with her. We're not having a party til next weekend though with all the Halloween stuff this weekend.
Enjoy your snow!!
The roads are all icy this morning!!! UUGGGHHHH!!!! Not alot of snow, but more slick & icy this morning. They opened up a round-about a month and a half ago. GET THIS>>>>> It is RIGHT NEXT to the hospital!!!! Is that supposed to be a joke, or something? Sure is going to be interesting for the ER staff. Oh what stories they will tell.....
Hunter carved out a Jack-O-Lantern last night and had a ball with the pumpkin GUTS!!!! We put a candle in it and put it out on the front deck. That was pretty fun!!!

We had a fun weekend. Friday is the first day in gosh I can't even remember that I didn't leave my house at all.....actually I never even got dressed. Laid in bed and watched tv and read books to Sadie Fri evening. Sat I did a bit of shopping for her birthday and then we went to the Trunk or Treat event. She loved it. We had a date with Sadie for mexican for supper....mmm it was good. Sadie helped me get a start on the 100 cupcakes we need made by this coming Sat morning. We now have half of them done....baked...frosted...decorated...and individually wrapped for the cupcake walk. Our hayride yesterday was rained out but oh well. We got more of those cupcakes done and then hubby and I had our bowling league last night.
Today and tomorrow will be 10 hr days at work and then I believe I am taking all day off on Wed for Sadie's birthday. We'll just spend the morning relaxing and playing together...then have lunch at daddy's work and then we're going to take her bowling or something.
Any big plans for the Halloween week?? What is Hunter dressing up as, Jamie? Sadie chose to be Woody.
DH is hunting out on base today, and the moose season ends on Novemeber 15th. He has no more vacation planned as far as I know, so, I am crossing my fingers that he is successful. He did get a caribou for us to fall back on, for meat, but, it would be nice to have that moose, so we can have part of the caribou processed in snack stcks, I have not had any caribou snack sticks since like 2005, so I am MORE THAN ready!!!!
The kick off of craft show season has started, so we will be going to on average a craft show or two a week form now till mid-December. We will be going to one tomorrow. Also, today is DH's sister's b-day, I had to call & remind him to give her a call. Sunday, we will be going out to Willow for brunch (a 45 minute drive in good weather) to see Mark's aunt & uncle, and his other aunt, I am thinking that his siter and her husband and two girls will also be there as well.
So, I will have a relaxing/busy weekend, but a good one spent with family!!!!

Last night I did something that was a lot of work but really helped lift my spirits. There is a food distribution that's been happening here in town for the last 3 months. It's called Ruby's pantry....people come in and pay $15 and get about $100 of food. It's all from surpluses that large food distribution companies have. Wow there was over 700 people there. I spent about an hour before they started just bagging bread. After that I stood in the line and put a pkg of spaghetti noodles in people's boxes. It was amazing to see all the people there...to see all the smiles and hear the great comments. I can't wait to volunteer again next month.
Have a great weekend!!
Mamograms are not too bad, a little painful, but once they are done 'squeezing' then that pinch feeling leaves. I had mine when I was 35, for a base. The news was saying that they should start doing base mamograms when all women turn 50 & I DISAGREE wit that, because I only have 1/2 of my family history. Who knows what is on my dad's side of the family? I sure as heck do not.
Michelle, girlfriend...... do you get vacation time with your job? Depression is SUCKY!!! I speak from experience. I usually have SAD, and end up going on anti-depressants in October/November, and weaning my self off in March/April.... this summer was ****ty weather, and with all of the family stuff & my shoulder injury (back in February) I started back up on them in June.
Just remember that I am here..... PM me, if you ever want to
