Topic: Glad Monday is over!!!

Man oh man...... This last weekend was not fun.  I was worried about DH's dad.  They went down to Stanford, and the doctors there did a bone marrow biopsy on the 29th.  The doctors said that they would ge the results Monday, the 1st..... they never got a call.  Finally, Wednesday, they got the call.  It sounded good.... That the stem cell transplant was doing what it needed to do.  On Saturday, DH's mom called & said that she had went to the store, and she came home to find DH's dad had passed out in the bathroom, but had hit the counter on the way down.... so, they were at the ER, trying to figure things out.  They admitted him & kept him for 2 days.  Nothing is cracked, or broken, so that is good news, yes, he is sore!!!  Some of this has been an ongoing issue with him not drinking enough water & becoming dehydrated.  He has been light headed & has passed out a couple of time and DH's mom has been fearful because of this.  Glad that the doctor's admitted him, and they were giving him fluids.  DH's mom is just beside herself.  It really sucks that we are 2500 miles away.  DH did ask his mom if she was telling the doctor any of the things that have been going on at the house, and said no........... So, Dh called and spoke with the nurse, and filled her in, which I am sure, she would tell the doctor, that way they are getting the WHOLE story & could treat him, and run the correct tests, and possibly visit putting his dad on anti-depressants.  (Dh asked his mom if his dad was "giving up", and his mom just bursted into tears)

I should hear more tonight on how they are doing.

Hi Holly....welcome to this board.   We really could use more people around here so hopefully you stick around.

I am from Minnesota and have a 20 yr old daughter, 18 yr old son, and 4 yr old daughter.   My 20 yr old has some mental health issues but never has really had a label put on them.   She's been on a couple of different meds but not untl she was a teenager when she was old enough to refuse to take them.  It's not easy parenting children with these issues so I've been there done that.   Please feel free to post here with us and vent, ask questions, or just say hello.   It's very quiet around here on weekends though.

Again Welcome!!!

I can't believe it'll be Thanksgiving soon!!  I have almost every weekend between here and Christmas totally booked up already AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Jamie,   I have problems sleeping too...but not sleep apnea.   My Dr prescribed me Lunesta a few yrs ago and it's my best friend!!  LOL

I am flat exhausted!!!  DH is off tomorrow, so I am already thankful that I can sleep in!!!  It is not that I do not have time to sleep, it is that I cannot fall asleep, and once I do fall asleep, it is not a good sleep.  Yes, I did have a sleep study (2 of them, actually-- the first one I did not sleep, imagine that??!!??)  I have sleep apena.  Got a CPAP last week, cannot fall asleep with the mask on.  Need to get in to the doctor, so that I can get prescribed something to fall asleep!!!  What a 20-20!!!!!!  UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH  (pulls out hair)

I am happy that I have been able to pick up my crocheting again, I am working on a blanket for DH's parents -- they have a king size bed, so that will take a while.  But, I am in the process of whipping out a baby blanket for one of the guys here at work, who just had his first.  A girl.  I will be doing another for a boy to be born in January.  A lady in my work group is due then.  It will be her second.  She has a girl now, so to me, this boy will complete it!!

Have a fun party for Sadie..... RELAX & enjoy!!!!!

I'm right there with you!!   Soooo happy it's over...but I told DH watch it won't be long and the presidential stuff will be starting for 2 yrs from now.   UGhhhhhh   They were knocking on our door last night at 7:30pm to be sure we voted.   Geeeesh.

I soo need to get with it and get everything ready for Sadie's bday party this Sat.   I'm far from organized this year.   Being sick this week hasn't helped.   We did finally go order a cake tonight LOL.   Now I just have to figure out what I need for the food etc...    I know I'm making chili, hot dogs, and chips so far.   Not sure what else lol.

Topic: So GLAD the voting is over with!!

This year has been a REAL PAINFUL experience.  So much MORE smearing going on!!!  Thanks to the "write-in" bull**** we had an additional 147 people (basically protesting) added to the "one" write-in for election day.  And let's not forget the telephone polls & calls.  The phone rang at almost 9:30 Monday night.  DH goes to bed at 7pm, and Hunter goes to bed at 8pm.  Early to bed, early to rise at our house, but, come ON, after 9pm!!??!!  I left the phone off of the hook for the night.  It did wake up DH, but, thankfully, if Hunter did get woke up, he did not come out of his room.

DH went to the funeral yesterday.  She was 53 the hand out that he kept, and gave to me was really nice.  Her family came up from the lower 48, and his hunting buudy's son came up as well.

Here is a copy & paste of the write-up from NBC news
ANCHORAGE, Alaska —

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, votes for write-in candidates were leading the U.S. Senate race with 81,876 votes and 41 percent of the vote, compared to Republican Joe Miller in second place, with 68,288 votes and 34.2 percent of the vote.

Democrat Scott McAdams was in third place, with 47,414 votes and 23.74 percent of the vote.

Write-in votes will not be hand-counted until after the initial count on election night, but many of them are presumed to be for incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

"It's incredible, absolutely incredible. I've been in Anchorage for 40 years and I've never seen anything like this," said Darrel Hess, a supporter of Murkowski. Murkowski's write-in campaign slogan was "Let's Make History."

"We're here tonight and it feels pretty good," Murkowski said soon after she and her large group of supporters arrived at Election Central at about 11:30 p.m. While some precincts were left uncounted, Murkowski was confident in her chances. "We're just widening that margin and it sure feels good," she said.

A hand count of write-in votes is expected to begin Nov. 18 and is estimated to take three days.

The Senate race became tumultuous after the Aug. 24 Republican primary, in which Miller defeated Murkowski.

Murkowski then announced a write-in campaign, and McAdams -- the Sitka mayor and nearly unknown Democratic nominee -- rounded out the top three serious contenders for the U.S. Senate.

"We ran a hard campaign, we fought all the way until the end and we've got a great base of supporters," McAdams said, but said he wouldn't make a conceding statement. "There's still a lot of votes left to be counted. There's still votes from rural Alaska, from Southeast Alaska, that need to be counted, but you know, we're staying positive and we're looking to the future."

Joe Miller told his supporters they could go home at around 10:30 p.m. and did not come to the Egan Center.

“What I ask you to do is go on home. Let's wait for the results to come in and we'll have more news in the morning," Miller said to his volunteers. “This has been about you. It's about we the people. I know for a fact the end result, it is going to be good for this country. We got people like you -- good people in this country."

“There's still votes to be counted and I would assume trickle in through the night, so you've got half the precincts in so we're going to wait for the rest of the results to come in. I'm going to get a good night's rest and we'll hit it in the morning," Miller said shortly before leaving his campaign party at the Snow Goose restaurant.

"I think it will be complicated and I think unfortunately it'll be a lot of lawyers trying to argue and a lot of people in public in front of cameras trying to say what their lawyers are trying to say," said Robert Campbell, Miller's campaign manager.

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow Jamie!!   Glad you can be there.

Sounds like you have everything lining up well for surgery.  Hopefully soon we'll be hearing a date for you!

I'm home sick today....thus getting on pretty late.   I slept in and have been lounging on the couch.  I'm afraid this cold has turned into maybe bronchitis or something.   Hubby will be home from work soon so I think I'll head in to the urgent care or something.   Ugghhh I just want to feel better!

Thank YOU, Michelle.  It is so sad when people die unexpectedly & so suddenly.  I do remember you posting about your friend's spouse.  Her funeral is tomorrow.  DH works until 1:00, and then will head over from there, to attend the funeral.  She had just become an American Citizen in August, she went through that entire process, and got to enjoy 2 months.  And, she was also looking foward to using her right to vote tomorrow.  She had a couple dalmations, and used them for therapy dogs.

And, I actually do have good news.... My plan is to have this food log IN THE MAIL in another week, so that everything can be turned into the insurance companies, for my revision!!!!  Providing that I am approved, the paln is to have surgery before 2011.

Have a GREAT Monday!!

OH Jamie, I'm so sorry!!  My prayers will be with the family and yours as well.   It's so hard to watch a close friend go through something like that.   As you might remember me posting 2 wks ago I had a friend of 35 lose her spouse.   Your friend's wife was just too young.  I'm glad your hubby was able to be there for him

I hope Hunter had fun.   Tell him Happy Halloween.   We had our carnival at church today and it was a huge success.   Sadie came home with a big bowl full of candy already.   Who needs trick or treating.   We just really are planning to go to houses of people we know anyway.

Hopefully your weekend is going ok!   Sending hugs from Minnesota!
