It has been a busy year for me and my family. I flew down to California from Alaska and had my RNY to DS revision surgery with Dr. Keshishian in California. I am 10 months out and happier now than I was this time last year. I had some complications from my surgery, and that resulted in having a hernia repair surgery in September. I am SLOWLY recovering from that surgery. Complications can happen, as much as we all do not want to know that they exsist.
My son is now in 1st grade, and has adjusted back into the routine of school. He likes it, and has a good time. Halloween was yesterday, and we went to Halloween Hallow instead of trick or treating, as the wind was making the temperature dip below zero, as the wind was 30 miles an hour, with gusts up to 50mph. So, we found inside activities and games to stay out of the weather. We then went to about 5 houses, and then on to the fire hall, they were having lots of Halloween activities as well. A good, warm time was had by all!!!
Looking forward to Thanksgiving, which I think we will be hosting at my house this year, with my family!!

We've had a busy life lately....more so than usual even. My hubby took on a 2nd job seasonally....which looks like it'll continue past the new year. He loves it but is gone most evenings and weekends now. It's tough but it'lll be worth it when all of our debt is paid off (which is what he took it for). We've actually made some pretty big strides in that area of our lives this past year.
Sadie is doing really well in pre-k and loves every minute of it. She's starting to sound out words and can write all the letters now. She's starting to figure out adding and subtracting as well. She's also going to AWANA at a sister church of ours on Wed nights plus our church on Thursdays and Sundays. My hubby has been teaching a class on Mondays while I have been doing the childcare for that. Tues night is about the only night of the week we don't have something going on.
Sooooo my resolution for real is to slow down!! I'm getting too old for this pace. Not sure what all will have to go but something has to. Hubby is really thinking he isn't going to teach this class anymore and will just pass it on to someone else. I am thinking cutting back the hours I work will be a big part of it. I need some time to be with my baby!
Here's to finding that open window!!
Does anyone have any news or New Years Resolutions they would like to share?
I wanted to share that I have been on a journey that has been "officially" nearly 3 years in the making, of getting a revision from my 2002 RNY revised to a DS. The reason it has taken me so long.... is insurance. I have exhausted my internal procedures with my secondary insurance (my primary insurance has a surgical obesity surgery exclusion). 2 weeks ago, I had my hearing, and they have decided to have on final IMR (Independent Medical Review) to determine medical necessity, so I should know on or by December 16th. It has been a LONG road. But here is to prayers of finally getting an approval and flying from Alaska to have surgery with Dr. Keshishian from RNY to DS in California.
My son is 5, and has started kindergarten this school year. That has definitely been a change!!!
Also, I was informed that my job would be cut from 40 hours a week to 20, and no benefits. So, in essence, our household income is dropping 25%. I am thankful that I did not lose my job!!!!! Then we would be selling our house in the dead of winter...... And also thankful my husband has health insurance. But the BIG bummer is that I lose my 401K and I am looking into making our life insurance portable, since it is through my job.
So, lots of adjustments for the new year of 2012 to look ahead for. And when a door closes, God opens a window somewhere!!!!!!

These kids can't be going to school!!!! When did they grow up?? Pretty exciting for them though. We are very frustrated with the whole school thing. Still working on figuring out where Sadie will be going this yr. I haven't gotten a call back from my 1st choice but I'll keep calling. Her classes wouldn't start for almost another month thankfully. We are going to an open house for a different one Monday evening. That is our 2nd choice...a bit more expensive too but we know it's a good school. We will be the opposite of you this yr....going from paying nothing to anywhere from $90- $110 a month for 3 half days a week. Looking forward to next yr Hahahaha!!
Tonight is the 'Meet & Greet' at Hunter's school. He will get to meet his teacher, and some of the kids he will be in class with. I cannot believe he starts school next week!!!! WOW!!!!
But, we will get to save some money on daycare!!!! HA!
Michelle, hope you had anice week off. I am sure you are back at your routine now.
Have a GREAT day!!!!

I got Sadie signed up for her dance class today. She'll be going Sat mornings starting in Sept. We got her shoes and all today so other than a couple of pairs of tights we're ready to go. She's very excited. Now if I could just hear from the preschool to know if we need to switch to the other one it'd be great!!
I hope your week is going well also!!
We are all doing well. Been very busy but that's the way summer usually goes. I totally missed hump day yesterday...just got to busy and forgot to even check here. I had to go in and have my prescription in my glasses checked....they had to increase the bifocal part as I was reading better if I took them off. After that we had dinner and headed to church. There was a bluegrass concert there. Wow was it amazing!! A family with 7 kids and lots and lots of talent. Sadie says she wants to be in that band LOL. Tonight is Vacation Bible School...then tomorrow we leave for camping. I am no where near ready for it either. It'll be another busy day today I guess.
Well, Hunter got his TB test & physical done for school yesterday & tomorrow he has to have his TB test checked. Then, 3 weeks from tody he has his first day of kindegarten!!!! My My How Time Does Fly!!!!!
Glad you are off all next week & can realx & camp!!!!
