Hi I was wondering something, I had my tubes tied in 2004 and was wondering if after I have my surgery and lose my weight if that will affect the tightness of the rings that are on my tubes? Like will it make them be a little loose to where I could become pregnant?

Tema,
Ive had my tubes tied for 4 years. I asked my ob/gyn and surgeon and was told the same thing by both:
Nope! Losing weight will not cause your tubes to shrink and the rings (in my case aligator clamps) to slip.
Not that it is completely imposible though. My ob/gyn told me in some cases the procedure does fail and they can slip, but the chances of that happening are pretty low. Even if they do slip youll have scar tissue from where they were placed making it virtually impossible to let sperm thru. So I figure were pretty safe.
Of course now Ive found out that I have to have a hysterectomy on the 11th, so I wont have to worry about getting pregnant again.
I would still ask your ob/gyn and see if you get the same answer.
Good luck!
