I want a baby!!

I had my surgery on May 14, 2004. I am down 88lbs, but I still have a long way to go. I got married on May 25, 2003 and my husband and I are having BABY FEVER. We really want to start trying. I know the doctor says wait at least a year, but I don't know whats wrong with me I really want to start a family sooner. But as much as I want to I am also scared to. My main concern is if I do get pregnant will the surgery harm my baby and/or me. Will I still lose weight and if I do is that okay. I know I have to ask the doctor all these questions but he will just say wait a year, but like I said I want to start now LOL. I dont know what to do. Has anyone got pregnant 5-9 months after their surgery and was everything okay??

I'm not trying to preech just to help---Before you keep trying check out Kathy V 's profile from Delaware -- She had an oops pregnancy a few months after the surgery and has been a birth control advocate ever since-- she has given alot of details of what she has gone through during her pregnancy too in her profile---don't get me wrong she is looking forward to having her daughter(I think she had her already but hasn't yet updated the website) but try and be patient and have fun while it's just you and your husband --- Mother of three, Tanya D.

Just think about what is best for the baby. Waiting! I can't wait either to have *another* baby, but I know that for his/her health, and mine, I need to wait. Just look at you, you're still young, and have plenty of time. So really, get yourself a depo shot, and then it's out of your hands jk! Hope all is well! Amanda

I'm curious how you made out Kristen. I got pregnant 9 months post op and miscarried. Then got pregnant again 18 months post op and am 4 weeks to delivery. The baby is very healthy and looking good in all aspects. How are you doing since its been a few months? It's been very difficult to find information about GBS and pregnancy. You know your body better than anyone. Let us know how you are doing! Sandy

read my profile.. kristina vera fr san diego. i got pregnant 9 weeks after my surgery!!! i then got pregnant again when my daughter was 4 months old. i wanted this surgery not only to lose weight but to become pregnant. no problems at all with pregnancy nor my births,i even have fibroids. dont be discouraged , my girls are now 3 and 2 and are healthy with no problems
