Snowy Monday

Well today was supposed to be my Monday off but the feds closed so it didn't matter.  Our blizzard has crippled us.  We have 2 feet of snow at our house, closer to 3 in to where I work.  Hubby made it in today but it took him 1 1/2 hours to get there.  They sent them out on the street but he says it is nasty and will probably end up coming home early.  The oldest of course called yesterday wanting to come home, her & her friend were tired of each other, we warned her about that but she didn't listen, we were not attempting to head out so she has to deal with it.  The youngest, also at a friends ended up heading to a different friends and it of course fine.  Saturday we shoveled the deck several times in an effort to keep the weight off of it.  Watched some movies, played games, did some cooking, etc.  Yesterday we headed outside to get some of the bad drifts out of the driveway.  I attempted to play with the dog but ended up wrenching my knee pretty badly so last night was just laying in the bed with ice watching the game.  So many around lost power and such, we were lucky as the only thing we lost was the cable/internet/phone for a bit.  2 of my sisters holed in together since the one has a generator, my mom ended up with 2 of the others and their kids as they lost power, the last one got stuck at home with no power and no way for anyone to come get her.  So it is just me and the dog home today, it will be a lazy day as my leg aches, will probably do some light cleaning, laundry, etc.  They are calling for another 4 - 8 inches tomorrow, and then another storm for the weekend, I think white is becoming my least favorite color, lol.  Hope you all have a great one.

WOW Court,  you have snow like we usually get!   I was wondering how you were holding up with it all.   Glad you and your family are all safe.  What a job to clean all of that up though.   We're supposed to get 4-8 inches between today and Wed...no big deal for us here really.   I don't have far to go anyway so it can snow for all I care lol.  I was really really sick last Fri so never even touched the computer that day.   Sat I started to feel a bit better so DH went with me and we got grocery shopping done....Sadie also had a bday party in the afternoon that we went to.   Yesterday was church...we then took a Sunday drive and had lunch....we went back to church at 5 for a Super Bowl party.   I didn'****ch a bit of it.   We hung out in the kitchen baking Valentine's cookies for a couple of outreach events we have coming up this week.   Sadie had a great time running between the two.   We are on another 10 hrs of mandatory OT this week...I never did get mine in last week so I better do it this week.  I'll work most of it on Wed which is normally my day off.   I'll probably do an extra hour or two tonight though.  We have a very busy week...tomorrow is Sadie's school, Wed Sadie and I are going with the youth from church to a local group home to play Bingo with the residents, Thurs is our normal church night, Friday is the leadership Christmas party for church, Sat we're going with a few other couples to the big dinner theatre in the twin cities.
