Hump Day!

Well it's hump day but then again more like Thursday for me since tomorrow is my last day of work for the week.  Yep, I get to work Christmas Eve but so does DH so not a real big deal.   It's looking like Christmas is getting more and more interesting as it gets closer.   A big winter storm is headed our way...blizzard like conditions expected.   We're supposed to go to my mother in law's tomorrow evening...might not get there.   Friday everyone is supposed to come here so I don't have to go out but we'll have to wait and see if I cook my turkey or hold off a day or two.   It'll make things interesting that's for sure.  Are you all traveling at all for Christmas?  

Last night was a pretty good night.   DH went to watch some hockey so Sadie and I went to Perkins and had supper together and then headed to her school.   Not very many families there so we just mostly sat around discussing what we are doing for the holidays.  It was fun!  After that we picked up my son and took him to the mall and Walmart.   He got his dad's present and both of his sisters boughten.  I got the few odds and ends of things I needed for the house.  

Today is work then I have to drop off the carpet shampooer to our friend and then off to pick up some crab apple jelly I ordered for DH.  Then we have to pick up a gift certificate and a bottle of wine for Friday.   That's it.....oh and to wrap those last couple of presents.

Well it is my Friday and I don't have to come bac****il the 4th.  I am so looking forward to it.  Tonight will be a quiet night with hubby, tomorrow is last minute errands, cooking & baking.  My in laws will be coming over tomorrow night for dinner.  Christmas morning is our time together at home then off to my mom's for breakfast.  After that it will be to my dad's for dinner.  I hope you & yours have a wonderful and safe holiday!

We had fun last night baking the snickerdoodles!!!  As a parent, I need to bake more with Hunter.... so I can get better at anticipating what he will do.... and what he will pour into the cookies..... ha ha ha 
We did "avert" potential disaster, but, he was putting his fingers/hands in the dough, and the poured some cinnamon with sugare, which is upoosed to go on the outside of the cookies, into the cookie mix!!!  I was a little stressed, as Hunter & I do not spend enought time baking in the kitchen, so I have a hard time "directing" my helper!!!   PLUS, it did not help that the cookies we were baking were not staying in our household, (the 3 of us, it's no big deal about germs & all that, but for work.....uhhhhh)  Anyways, you get my point.
That will all come in time, for the both of us!!!

So, today, I am participating in the cookie exchange, and the our work group is having a pot luck for Christmas.  So, it will turn out to be a busy day here.

Tomorrow evening, after I am done with work, DH, Hunter and I are heading to go do his side of the family Christmas celebration.  So, that should be fun!!!!

I called my mom to wish her a good trip over to Hawaii.  She will be gone 3-4 weeks, depending on when she signs on the house she is buying.  It needs a little repair, and from what she just said on the phone, her signing might be delayed by the underwriters.  So, we will see how that goes.  I think her stress level is already high, and she has not even left Alaska yet!!!!
