Happy Monday
Well, it's that dreaded Monday again!! It's going to be a good day....I'm telling myself that so I know it will be LOL. I have a lot going on physically and mentally today so it'll be crazy that's for sure. I am only working 6 hrs today so I'm done with work at 11:30 or noonish. I have a check up at the eye specialist at 2pm. I'm pretty nervous about this...I just hope everything is fine and no more laser surgery is needed. I never made it out to Target to get dog food etc... last night so that'll have to be done later this evening plus baby gift shopping.
We had a great weekend. Saturday we spent the day with my sister in law and her fiance. The 4 of us played in a Bocce Ball tournament. She and I had never played before so we figured ehhh we probably won't do so well. We won 4 out of 6 games so not so bad. It was a lot of fun though. Yesterday we had our fall kickoff at church and a potluck. Gotta love it when everyone cooks their specialties. After church my husband and another young guy came back to our house with my son to watch football. His wife and I stayed for the potluck. This couple is 22 yrs old and look up to us as a form of a role model. It feels strange....when did I get old enough for a young married couple to look up to me LOL. They announced in church yesterday that they are inducing the wife to have their first baby on Thursday. Well.....I'm thinking that just might not happen. We sent them away at about 9pm last night to go to labor and delivery. She for sure lost her mucous plug here last night and thought her water may have broken. She was leaking a bit she thinks. I'm sooo excited. Friday's ultrasound estimated little baby girl at about 4lbs but they said she's healthy. Mom is only about 95 lbs so is very tiny. Soooooooo I just may have been the last one to feel that baby moving and groving in mommy's tummy before being born. Sadie was loving touching her belly and then proceeded to pull her shirt up and show us that she has a baby in her belly. Sooo cute! I haven't heard yet if it indeed was her water or not. Hopefully we'll hear today that baby Adelynn is here. I so look forward to being a part of this baby girl's life.
Well, I better get to work. Hope you all have a great Monday!
We had a fabulous weekend. Friday night was the highschool football game. Saturday was some relaxing and piddling around home and then off to the first soccer game of the season, home for a late dinner and some fun with the girlies, roasting marshmallows at the neighbors. Yesterday we were up and did some more piddling around the house. Actually got quite a few small things accomplished. Had my sister in law & family over for dinner along with quite a few of the friends of the girlies. Played a game of kickball after dinner and we had a blast. Of course after clean up, etc. it was a later night than I intended. I am a bit tired today but hoping to make up for it tonight. Of course the girls each had a friend stay the night so trying to get 4 yeens out the door this a.m. was a disaster. Boy will I be glad for the quiet at home tonight. Have a wonderful day!!!!
Court, hope you get a little relaxation in tonight, sounds like you are dur for a break.
My Friday went well, was winding down for the evening, and my girlifrind calles & says she needs me...... She lives out by my mom, almost an hour from my house.... so, I put on my cape & got in my car. Turns out, since it is the fall season here.... she has a motorcycle..... that the riding of a motorcycle is very, very limited time left, to get on & ride. Her daughter has moved into Anchorage, to go to her Freshman year of collage this year & her 2 boys (one ias 11 or 12 & the other is 6) went with their dad for the weekend, so, she was alone for the weekend, and decided to go for a ride around 6:15pm, like around 25 minutes was her plan..... she got 2 miles from her house on a 55mph road, 2 lane paved road, just taking a ride, was wearing her steel toed boots, helmet & skins (not leathers, but more protection than just a t-shirt & jeans) so, anyways...... she has oncoming traffic in the other lane.... and this HUGE white dog runs right into her lane of traffic, in front of her, she slammed on the brakes, but, she felt herself skidding, so, she released the back break, and ended up running over this big dog & killing it. In the mean time, she & her bike go down from the impact & she slides across the pavement. A couple people stopped, thankfully. On guy says "What happened?" (probably thinking drinking was involved) And she says "What? See that big dog?" And points to it, where it had landed in the ditch. The guys is like "Oh, wow!!!! Glad you are OK"
So, I get my tail out to her house, she was able to get back up on her bike & make it the 2 miles home..... called everyone she knew, and could not get ahold of anyone & then called me, since I live so far away.
I get onto the road, and called her, to let her know I wanted to check on the dog, so she did not have to. I get to the dog, it had a blue collar.... NO TAGS..... It could have had a microchip, but, I am not animal control, with one of those scanners, ya know?
So, I called to animal control, and no one was there, so I called the police, told them what happened & they said that the procedure was to call animal control & leave them a voice mail, they transferred me, and I left all of the information & exact location.
Then, got over to my girlfriend's house & she had some road rash, and a cut above her eyebrow, from the helmet impact, but she was worried about her abdomen, where she slid onit, so, off to the ER we went. They observed her, did a blood test, and an X-Ray.... released her, and she came over & stayed with me for the night. I live 10 minutes from the hospital door, and then she would not have to go back home for the night to an empty house.
She is feeling better, feels TERRIBLE about the dog, though. All I could say, is that if she had left the house 10 minutes later, someone else would have hit it.
Saturday, after I took her back home, DH, Hunter & I went to my sister's to see my gramma & uncle. My gramma is going to come over Thursday and saty with me for a few days, and in 6 days, my sister is going to have her baby.
Sorry for the novel, that was my exciting weekend, for ya!!!!
