Uggghhhh it's Monday!

Ok it's not so bad...I just dread thinking of the whole week ahead before having a day off again LOL.    We had a good weekend...got a lot accomplished here at home.   We took Sadie to the aquarium here in our city on Sat and had a great time there.   We got our pictures etc... unpacked and hung up finally LOL!    It feels so much more like home now.  Yesterday was church then we went to the mall for a bit...got hubby a few smaller shirts woohooo!   I had a meeting at church last night to evaluate our pastor for his first 6 months with us.   At one point yesterday afternoon I realized that I had forgotten the papers for the evaluation at church so ran over to get them.   On my way over there...about 8 blocks from home...I realized there were 7 police vehicles lining the street.   Wow I thought must be something going on.   Then I slowed down and looked around and realized that next to those vehicles were police kneeling down with guns drawn pointing them across the street.....LOL and there I was driving through the middle of it slowing down to check out what was going on.    A bit scary I must say!    I found out later it was a standoff...there was an arguement between neighbors and a gun drawn.   Nobody ended up hurt thank God.   So...that was my excitement for the weekend.  

Jamie,   I found out last night that our church is planning a missions trip next summer to AK but not the part I thought they were going to do.   They're going to Unalakleet...which from my understanding is pretty remote??    A few of them have gone before.   I doubt I'll get to come this time because with Sadie only being 3 we won't really be able to bring her.   They're going to go and work on a camp to help out and my huband has always wanted to do it since he first heard about it.   I think I will probably end up letting him go and I'll stay back with Sadie.   My son wants to go too....would be a great opportunity for the 2 of them to do together. 

This last couple of week has been busy with DH's parents up here.  They will be leaving our house tomorrow morning around 6:00am, to get to the airport, to go back to California. 
I just adore them!!!!  We had a huge family dinner at our house last night, with everyone.  And tonight, we are taking them out to dinner.  DH is off today, so they will all be spending the day together.  It has been a very good visit.

Here is a map.  The orangish/reddish dot is Unalakleet.  To the lower right, (you have to press the little * - * button a few times to get the map to zoom out) is Anchorage, we live 45 miles north of there.
Anyways, glad hubby is doing so well, and having to go buy new, smaller clothes sure makes the positivity go through the roof!!!!  YAY!!!!!

I pretty much knew it wasn't on the road systems because I've listened to them talk about flying in on small planes.   I'm thinking that in itself might deter me from wanting to go with LOL.   I guess I'll wait until they make another trip to the college that I was talking about before.   That's more my speed...hehehe.

Hey ladies.  I am home enjoying a few more moments of quiet before hubby & the girlies get home.  Had a wonderful weekend here.  Friday was date night.  Hubby dropped me off to get my nails done and then he ran home to shower, came back to get me and we went out to dinner.  Saturday was a cookout for my cousin to celebrate his marriage.  Sunday I had a bunch of my family over for a cookout to celebrate 2 of my sister's bdays and to show off my new house.  It was our first time hosting a family function and it was a blast.  Not something I want to do too often as it was a lot of work but again it was fun.  Today I slept in some and then headed in to work for our staff meeting, took my car in for emissions, ran a few errands, and then came home.  I have pretty much just been lazy at home every since.  Not sure what the plan is for tonight.  Hubby wants to do one thing and I want to do another so we shall see.  Hope you guys have a good one!
