Prayers, positive thoughts and swinging chickens
Please keep my youngest son Malik (maleek) in your thoughts on Tuesday Feb 10. He is having plates and screws in both knees removed. Long story short. He has multiple though minor issues with his legs. The worst and most important was to get his bowed legs (Blount's Disease) straight so that they could work on getting the other things corrected. Well after 10 years of doc visits and waiting for him to "outgrow" the bow his orthopedic doc decided that his bow wouldn't correct on it's own like they thought and that surgery was the only option. So Dec 13th 2008 he had 8-plates put in the growth plates of both of his knees to slow the growth on the outer side of the bone so that the inner could catch up. Well at our 1 year follow up his legs are straight! and they are going in to remove them. Please pray that the surgery is uneventful and that his legs continue to grow straight at the same rate (so they don't rebow). The last time he was only in wheel chair for a little over a month and was cruising with a walker. After months of physical therapy he was back 100%. Our hope is this time the surgery will go even smoother! Thanks girls
