Hunter's First Hunting Trip

My DH and Hunter went out rabbit hunting on Saturday morning. He is not quite 2 1/2. They came back with 4 rabbits!!!!!! My DH said he cried all the way home, though, because he got cold (you know, that stinging cold??). But he was a happy boy, once he got back to the house. DH said that they would not go back out hunting together, unless it was 40 or above outside.

So, on Sunday, we cooked up rabbit stew, and it was GREAT!!!!

Great Job Hunter!!! Sounds like once he got warmed up he was excited about his reward LOL. My mom used to make rabbit stew when we were kids....although she didn't tell us it was rabbit.

There was some spruce hen meat in there as well. I like it all!!!! I am having leftover stew again for lunch today. The leftovers, we will freeze, so that we do not waste them, because, I am tired of stew this week!!!! We made a very LARGE crock pot full. I LOVE to have stew in the winter time. Plus, it's cheap!!!!!!

My mom actually told us it was chicken stew until after we ate it. She then told us what it was. Of course then it was too late for us to say we didn't want to eat it because of what it was. I love stews and soups dh not so much. I do make him suffer sometimes though and make a pot.
