kids with ODD, ADHD, a mood disorder and/or anexity

Do any of you have a child like this ?
My son has all of the above. The past year has been a ver rocky road for him. Mostly last school year. He even had to be put in a mental hospital for a week. But he is doing soooo much better this school year. He's like a diff. boy now !

This school year he's been acting like a typical boy. Got in trouble a few times but nothing major and I had the teachers cut back on his sight words and spelling words last week and he made a 100 on the test Friday ! (He has an IEP plan and I will make sure they use it right !) He has never made a 100 on a spelling test. This morning I had 2 teachers tell me Tre' done great on his Subtraction Page yesterday. I'm so proud of him.

I don't have any experience in any of these areas Holli.   I do have a daughter that has cerebral palsy and learning disabilities.  She's 18 now but I'll tell you when used correctly the IEP can be wonderful for them.   You are a great mom making sure it's followed...it's the best thing you can do for him.    Congrats on the spelling and subtraction!!!   I bet he's very proud too.    You should be very proud of him...sounds like he's a great little boy!

Hi Holli!

My older son actually has an IEP for behavorial issues. He was diagnosed with ADD a few years ago, did take medication but it didn't seem to really do too much for him. I think he may have been mis-diagnosed, but I'm not a dr.

Mark would have his up & downs. He would get really good grades for 2-3 weeks & then he'd get in trouble & it all would go down hill. It's been quite the struggle with him. He's extremely compulsive.

Holli, Sounds like you are getting great support from the other ladies here!!!!  I personally have no experience, but my son is only 2.

Congrats on the test!!!  I bet that positivty will help him succeed!!!!!
