Allergic to Mosquitos!?

Seriously my son has just been diagnosed being allergic to mosquito's. He is 2 years old. he had gotten two mosquito bits in a matter of seconds the other day. one on his forehead, the other on his ankle area. well his forehead swelled up, it looked like a golfball was in his head, and his ankle/foot was so swollen he couldn't fit in his shoes. by the next morning his swelling on his forehead had gone down, but now his eyes were completely swollen shut! went to the Dr's and his ankle/foot had actually developed into cellulitis, and was given an antibiotic and steroid for swelling. and an EpiPen Jr.
I didn't know one could actually be that allergic to Mosquito's, an epipen for a mosquito bite, is just craziness. on Friday we are having an allergy panel done to check for shellfish (which i am allergic to) wasps/bees (my brother is allergic to and has an epipen), there is one more thing, i believe ants. we are not going to enviormental because that involves more blood, supposedly. but i am not all that worried about grass and dust, there is claratin or Zyrtec for that, i just want to know the things he might be allergic to that could kill him.
is anyone Else's kids allergic to mosquito's?

None of my kids are allergic to mosquitos but I was diagnosed with this as a child.   I fortunately wsn't quite as bad as your son is.   I didn't need an epi-pen but did have a medication I can remember taking for the swelling.   As an adult I get a bigger welt than most normal people but it's not as bad any more.    Sorry to hear your poor little guy is having such a tough time with it.   I don't know about where you are but here in MN it's pretty hard to avoid mosquitos.   Good Luck!!
