Please give my your advice....I was about to seriously hurt J last night. We live on a dead end street....he knows he is not to go past that DAMN STOP SIGN!!! WELL>>>he went and asked his Grandpa if he could go to his friends that Grandpa has let him go to before...Grandpa said you better ask your Mom...he JUST got done being grounded yesterday after a week...he punched Chuy in the face. WELL>>>The little brad DID NOT come and ask me!!!! Chuy was on his way home from picking my Mom up from work and saw J a block and a half away from where he wasn't suppose to go past...Chuy pulled up and said...What are you doing? He puffed up his chest and screamed at Chuy...>WHAT>>>WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO???????? To which Chuy said...tell your Mom and he came straight home to tell me. I went DIRECTLY to where Chuy saw him. He was GONE! I proceded to drive around for 45 minutes looking for him. I was so scared...I went back home and we took Gracie to Grandpa and Chuy drove me. I was about to go call the police when we saw him. HIS LITTLE A$$ TRIED TO RUN!!!!!!!!! I FLIPPED OUT!!!!!!!!! I JUMPED out of the car and I was SCREAMING at him......asking him what the H he thought he was doing? And to get his A$$ in the car. I screamed so loud a lady a half a block down yelled back...OMG>>>WTH?????????? I screamed at him the whole way home and got his butt when I got in the house. I do not know what to do with this boy. He wants to be a gangster. He thinks they are cool...he is always trying to put bandanas on and all this other stuff. The two boys he was with RAN>>>>>>>>>they ran so fast after we pulled up! I'd like to have swatted them too!!! I told him those little BRATS had better NEVER EVER STEP FOOT ON OUR DOORSTEP AGAIN!!!! The one has such a bad mouth that Gracie's sitter won't even let him in their yard (all the kids go over there to jump on the trampoline)...she doesn't even speak English and knows how bad his mouth is!!!! The other one...he's just a big BRAT!!! Just walking in our house not even knocking and trying to take Gracie outside....that scares me...what does he want my 18 month old outside for anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK>>>So I flipped out and someone said to me that he's just trying to get his independance....IDC>>>I told him....not my kid!! He WON'T BE RUNNING THE STREETS at no 10 years old...or 16 or 17 for that matter!!!!! ONE OF US will end up locked up!!!!!!! I scared him so bad he peed his pants!! He scared the U KNOW WHAT out of me!!!!!!!!!!! I sent him to bed...I let him come out about 2 hours later for some food and then RIGHT BACK IN THERE!!!!!! He is grounded the REST OF THE SUMMER!!!! Some think I am over reacting...but it's like I told him this morning...there are VERY BAD people in this world! It is NOT LIKE it was when I was 10 years old!!!! We had a child molester patroling our area......they JUST GOT HIM!!!! AND>>>He is NOT going to be a little gangster!! He has CP>>>He couldn't even protect himself out of a wet paper bag!!!! He thinks gangsters are cool...I am seriously rethinking wanting another one after last night. SERIOUSLY!!! I thought I was going to have a heart attack he scared me that much.

Thanks, Jamie!! I would think he has the greatest mentor in the world! He is with his Grandpa ALL THE TIME!! I still need to have him tested for ADHD too...seeing as he is a drug baby.

Oh Michelle!!! I've been there....my best advise is to tell you to keep a tight reign on him. Do not give in....you are definitely right in being worried about the kids he wants to hang around with. The whole mentor thing Jamie mentioned is not a bad idea either....even if he has grandpa...sometimes an outside source to be just HIS friend....not part of the family helps a lot. My son had a mentor when he was about J's age and it was wonderful for him. At the time my husband had come in to our lives so I almost decided to let some other kid have the mentor. The lady that worked there told me he deserved it just as much as another kid and she thought it'd be great for him. A kid can never have too many people that care about him. Another thought is....check online see if you can find some onlin support groups such as we have here for parents of children with disabilities.....I think I found one on yahoo back when my daughter was younger. I found a mother who had a daughter older than mine that helped me a lot. Also the girls emailed each other...it was great for my daughter to see that other people were like her and are living a great life even though she had similar health issues. Might be good if you could find an older male for J to have correspondence with. Just a few thoughts. I feel you.....wanna take my son who's going to be 16 in about 2 wks???

Thanks, Michelle....I guess he's just getting to be at "that age". BUT>>I will have a tight reign on him, you can believe that!! AY>>>it's not that easy, is it?
